Why are they diverting the train route..since most of the passengers only from Kumbakonam and Thanjavur.If the route is diverted,its quite difficult for us we don't have any other trains other than Rockfort.But the number of passengers is huge for Thanjavur and Kumbakonam compared to Nannilam/peralam...

Rockfort. Exp -extension was to compensate the loss of service of direct trains due to guage conversion. Now it is over new train fromTJ-MS should be introduced. Rockfort Express should be restored exclusively for TPJ.

I agree with you. You got a new account and you wanted the thrill of first use. Now you got it. Rs.30/- is worth spending for that satisfaction. We have to enjoy all these small things in life. No use in accumulation of money otherwise. Go ahead.

When the entire stretch between Bangalore City- Pune was Metre Gauge there was a train between Pune and Kolhapur. 2 trains were there from SBC and Pune (then Poona). Then the gauge convetsion was done between Pune and Miraj in the I Phase.

Concept of 'Competition between 2 trains'- Doesn't sound funny? You are all well informed about Railways and some friends more than the dept.staff.
So I being a novaice need not remind you every decision which Section track to be strengthened, to which level, which train to go at what speedetc.(I can cite 1000 examples but I am cutting it) are decided by the bosses in Delhi and buruaeycrats sitting in Zonal Hqrs. Let it be 'King' or 'Emperor'. Can a Loco. Engineer(Driver) can decide to goat 140. Kms. if there was caution instructions. Any train if provided with appropriate Loco,Rake,and time and clearance will achieve the desired results. So which train is fast? is a unnecessary debate. If somebody fight which bus...

Bus travel is less complicted. Suitable for busy people who cannot plan their 120 days prior. Now with increased sophistication in Volvo/Benz/Corona Sleeper buses and introduction of 4lane highways bus travel is more attractive now. Between Cities like Bangalore and Chennai, we can just decide and go and there will be a Volvobus which is in no way less than the CC travel.
In case of Bangalore & Mumbai,all the trains take 24 hrs, whereas Volvo takes just about 22 hrs and no standing in queue from 8 am, RAC/WL nuisance.
