Wow.. Wonderful.. No words.. D 400 cr spent for GC should hv been used for sm other useful cause as no regular trains from PGT even after 1 year of PGT-POY GC.. I assume, similar would be fate of CBE-POY GC.ie, no regular train would or rather should run for a yr.. If nt, den it's a clear apathy & discrimination towards Palakkad & Kerala.. Anywys nw we r used to dis suffering dis injustice.. Kudos SR..
That wont be the case with Ptj-Poy bcz the pressure from CBE side will be more. I think You would know why the amritha extention to MDU was denied and why Mas-Plni which comes till poy is not allowed to be extended . So The passenger associations there is more stronger and will certainly exert more pressure on railways.So i dont think its fate would be same as Pgtn-Poy.But still would have to wait some time.

PUNALUR-PALAKKAD PALARUVI EXPRESS TO BE FLAGGED OFF ON APRIL 19 Kochi: The much-awaited Punalur-Palakkad Palaruvi Express train will begin its service on April 19. train (16791), which starts from Punalur at 3.25am, will reach Kollam at 4.40am, Ernakulam North (9.35am) and Palakkad (1.20pm). In return, the train (16792), which starts from Palakkad at 4pm, will reach Ernakulam at 7.05pm, Kollam (11.25pm) and Punalur (1.20am). the train will have stops at Avaneeswaram, Kottarakkara, Ezhukon, Kundara, Perinad, Munroe Thuruthu, Sasthamkotta, Oachira, Kayamkulam, Mavelikkara, Cheriyanad, Chenganoor, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam and Palakkad. Kodikkunnil Suresh informed that in the beginning, there will be only 11 coaches and it will be increased according to the rush in the train. The new train was announced two months ago but it was delayed due to several reasons. The train will also be a huge relief for daily passengers who return from Palakkad to Ernakulam side

new express train from Punalur to Palakkad, which will start running from next week, is likely to be christened ‘Palaruvi Express.’ A request in this connection by Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, has been submitted to Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu.
Mr. Suresh said in a statement that under the time table for the train, it would start at 3.25 a.m. from Punalur, leave Kollam at 5 a.m., Ernakulam at 9.45 a.m., and reach Palakkad at 1.20 p.m. 23 halts The train will leave Palakkad for Punalur at 4 p.m., Ernakulam at 7.10 p.m., Kollam at 11.55 p.m. and reach Punalur at 1.20 p.m. The train will have 23 halts. N.K. Premachandran, MP, said Railways had sanctioned operation of new trains on the Punalur-Edaman and New Aryankavu-Schencotta reaches of the Punalur-Schencotta sections where gauge conversion had been completed. The converted section was formally commissioned last week. The Tirunelveli-Schencotta train will be extended to New Aryankavu for the purpose. Similarly, the Guruvayur-Punalur train and the Kollam-Punalur Passenger will be extended to Edaman, he said.
