if i book a ticket from CSTM to PUNE in 2S class (boarding at TNA), can i use that ticket to go from ghatkopar to TNA in a local train and then board the train at TNA without buying a local ticket?

if you buy an unreserved ticket from one station to another station, you can travel in ANY TRAIN with unreserved coach, including local trains... So if i have a 2S class ticket from CSTM to PUNE (which is more expensive than unreserved ticket), why do i have to buy a separate ticket for local?

the "boarding point" concept is there so that if the TC notices a vacant seat if he checks between CSTM and TNA, he will know that the passenger will arrive at TNA. However, the full fare from CSTM to TNA has already been paid for 2S class, which is more than the UTS ticket. logically, i shouldn't have to buy a separate ticket.
I found this when i did some google search. This RTI query says that the travel is allowed:

going by that argument, ONLY e-ticket is invalid in mumbai subarban trains. if i have a ticket purchased from the counter, such travel would be allowed. is that what you are saying?
