The Lodging facilities are not available at Amritsar Station. Even though Amritsar is mentioned in the List of Stations, the rooms are not available on entering the PNR for all the categories of Double/Single Room , Family Room, Dormitory Room. The message appears "No rooms available for slot/booking". Rooms should be provided at this station as this is a major tourist destination.

Every Chief Minister in Maharashtra has been promising that there will be no power cuts in Maharashtra from the time their party has come to power. If we recollect, the Enron power project was scrapped and there has been no indigenous entity to generate and supply 24 X 7 Power in Maharashtra.
Therefore, the moot point is that if Navi Mumbai (Vashi to Panvel) has to become a Smart City, it cannot afford to have any power cuts and it should have 24 X 7 power supply round the clock. Likewise, the below instances summarize the view that MSEDCL does not have the required capacity to supply 24 X 7 power to Navi Mumbai residents from Vashi to Panvel. This has

been happening for the last 30 years and it is high time the Maharashtra Government understands the need for changing the Power Distributor in Navi Mumbai from MSEDCL to another player like Reliance or TATA Power. TATA Power will supply cheaper power and also insulate Navi Mumbai by supplying 24 X 7 power for Navi Mumbai from Vashi to Panvel.

MSEDCL has been resorting to load shedding and irregular power cuts in Khanda Colony Sector 9. The residents have been suffering and the situation does not seem to improve. There was a power cut on 8th Feb 2017 from 10.00 a.m.to 2.00 p.m and again on 11th Feb 2017 from 8.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. These irregular power cuts disturbs the residents work schedule and they suffer financial loss.
MSEDCL has been torturing the residents over the last 30 years despite paying all their bills regularly and that too well before the due date. Load shedding is not the solution and electricity generation is the need of the hour.

As a result of such power cuts, the following are the problems faced by the residents:-
1. Children and senior citizens cannot cope up with the heat and suffocation and suffer from various ailments.
2. Costly vegetables, fruits, milk, batter and other perishables etc stored in the refrigerator get spoiled leading to tremendous losses.
3. The mobile phones conk off and the Internet connection gets disrupted and communication is cut off leading to severe inconvenience.
4. Digitization goes for a toss as payments cannot be made online or from the mobile.
5. The age old practice of installing generators/inverters does not solve the issue as this leads to pollution on account of release of more gases and depletes the ozone layer and deprives the city and country of earning carbon credits.
We appeal to HT Navi Mumbai to kindly take up the matter with MSEDCL immediately and the Maharashtra Government and get this resolved permanently. These power cuts destroy an upcoming Smart City- Navi Mumbai.

The Lodging facilities are not available at Kolhapur Station. Rooms should be provided at this station as this is a major tourist destination. It will also help commuters to avail cheaper facilities rather than expensive hotel rooms.

Sir/Madam
Big Bazaar has announced Sabse Sasta six days Sale from 21st Jan to 26th Jan. However, few people know that there is one loophole in the billing system of Big Bazaar since the last two years which has not yet been rectified till date. This loophole is prevalent in all Big Bazaar stores like Vashi, Panvel etc and is most rampant in Panvel Big Bazaar. A consumer would be hoodwinked if he/she does not check the billed amount and calculate the rate per kg applied by the billing system vis-a-vis the rate per kg mentioned inside the store. This is applicable for all vegetables being sold.
On
...
every Wednesday there is a Wednesday bazaar sale where the vegetables are sold at cheaper rates. The prices are mentioned on the rate cards per kg on each rack where the vegetables are displayed. Now the consumer picks up the required quantity and the item is packed at the vegetable counter with the sticker mentioning only the weight of the product and not the total billed amount. The rate per kg is also not mentioned on the sticker.
Now when the consumer completes shopping and proceeds to bill the product and pay the amount, there is a mismatch in the rates the system applies and between the actual rate mentioned in the rack. For example, Capsicum is sold for Rs 20 per kg in the rate rack and the consumer purchases 500 gms, the amount to be actually billed is Rs 10 . However, in the billing system the rate is Rs 40 per kg and the product is billed at Rs 20 instead of Rs 10. Likewise for Ivy Gourd (Tondli) the rate mentioned is Rs 20 per kg whereas the billed rate is Rs 68 per kg. The examples mentioned above are real and the prices prevailing on 25th January 2017 at Panvel Big Bazaar stores. We have experienced these situations several times over the last two years and each time requested for refund and rectification in the billing system so that in future this does not happen. However this loophole still exists in the billing system.
The consumer has to be alert enough to check the bills everytime on the rates charged for each product by calculating the price per kg before they exit the store and then the fight for refund begins where the Customer Service representative does not accept the consumer version and then sends his person to verify the same which is then confirmed that the rate is correct as per the consumer. The difference is then refunded to those consumers who spend precious time and ask for the refund. Many a times the customer service manager does not refund in cash and tries to sell some other product to the consumer for the difference amount which is an unethical practice for their mistake.
The above irregularities can be rectified permanently if at Big Bazaar, for vegetables, the actual price charged for the product along with the weight and rate per kg be printed on the sticker at the Vegetable counter itself. This methodology will eliminate all sorts of errors and the consumer will not be hoodwinked.

The lodging facility at Pune in the IRCTC Retiring Room is Excellent except for the following issues:-
1. There are no Double Room/Single room booking. Dormitory rooms are only available with common wash rooms and common bathrooms. Family rooms are available but are very costly. It would be great if Double room and single rooms are available.
2. Family Room no. 5 is excellent with an opaque Wooden Door and good wash rooms. However Family room nos. 3 and 4 are not upto the mark for the amount charged which is very costly.
...
Dormitory rooms for 12 hours are Rs 114 plus service charges and service tax per bed and Family rooms for 12 hours are Rs 513 plus Service tax plus service charges and service tax on service charges. This is for Non A/c rooms for 12 hours which is very high and the amount becomes Rs 610 after taxes for 12 hours only. There is service tax levied on the base amount for Non-AC Rooms which should be levied only for AC rooms. Therefore, the amount should be Rs 300 to Rs 400 for 24 hours and proportionately for 12 hours plus service charges and service tax. This will bring down the cost of the rooms and many commuters will opt for this facility.
3. The Jan Aahar stall does not have Meals - Thali, etc and Breakfast items and commuters have to fend for themselves.

The lodging facility at Manmad in the IRCTC Retiring Room is good except for the following problems that have to be sorted out:-
1. The rooms are very noisy i.e. the commuters feel the Announcer is inside the room for all the 24 hours. The rooms should be sealed with noise proof Glass so that the commuters can have a good night's sleep. As this is a busy station, the announcements blare through the night along with Engines of the passing trains also honking. The room is on the platform itself leading to security issues.
2.

The Door frames are pathetic and do not close properly. The Door frames should be replaced with an opaque wooden door and this should be fitted to restore privacy and improve security.

There is a Special Train (Train no. 07617 & 07618) which runs from Panvel to Nanded and back and will run till 31st January 2017. This train should be converted to a normal running train on a permanent basis plying 4 times a week. Additionally, the train from Nanded to Panvel should run on Saturday evening at 5.30 p.m. so as to reach Panvel at 9.00 a.m. on Sunday. This way commuters will undertake weekend trips to Nanded, Parli Vaijnath (Jyotirlinga), Parbhani (Aundh Jyotirlinga), Latur, Pune etc. The railways are required to do the needful urgently.

The coach compartment indicators at Panvel railway station on Platform nos. 6 and 7 are not working since several months. This leads to unnecessary chaos at the last minute at the station as people scamper towards the allotted compartment after the train arrives. This issue can be resolved permanently if the Coach indicators function properly at Panvel railway station. The railway authorities have to due the needful immediately to avoid any major accidents.
