Propososal of CR for speeding up trains has been declined by SWR & SCR.
This is disgusting.. all zones should co-operate with each other.
Only CR can't speed up the trains, it's subsequent zones also has to make changes in it's time table.

5. Ahmedabad - Chennai by 35 mins
6. LTT - Hubli by 60 mins
7. Bikaner - Yeshwantpur by 60 mins
8. Barmer - Yeshwantpur by 60 mins
9. Shirdi - Mysore by 60 mins
10. Mumbai - Hyderabad by 30 mins
11. Indore - Lingampalli by 30 mins
12. LTT - Vishakhapattanm by 30 mins

All are laggards including CR SCR SR thats why Mumbai MAS route is stuck with 105-110 kmph mps.
Most importantly its SCR who has done all doubling n electrification still dont want to speed up.
On the other hand another 110 mps route Mumbai Howrah comprising of CR SECR SER really worked well together.... n trains like Howrah Mail was speeded up by 2+ hrs . Also Vidarbha Express was made SF with aggresive timeslot. then Howrah duronto was made to run which was 5 hrs faster than Gitanjali.

Chennai Rajdhani was standing between the two step-siblings bound to Mumbai, arguably both being third Rajdhani of Mumbai from Nizamuddin.

zones shud be formed irrespective of state boundaries...
There was a time when UP MP MH was in CR majorly, BPL div of CR did primary maintenance of Bhopal Shatabdi Express. the icf rake was allowed for 140 kmph operations.
CSTM as a HQ is good, Nasik demands trains to Delhi then LTT-HW AC and LTT NZM AC

has GN quota seats in both of these trains, CST div's Kalwa car shed maintains the EMU of Pune, KYN ELS of CSTM div especially took CAM/2 locos for pune division, CR made NGP div 120 kmph long for NR's SBC/MAS Rajdhani, 3phase ELS in NGP div i.e AJNI is there and in SUR div, too Daund ELS is planned.
disadvantage of more zones is addition of slack at zonal boundaries example LTT NZM 60 mins slack in WCR-CR boundary... meaning more zones more slack, that is one of the reasons IR could not majorly speed up trains.
SECR is also good got BSP Rajdhani back to BSP after it was extended to Howrah, got Vidarbha exp extended from NGP to Gondia, 3phase ELS in Bhilai, Humsafar express started, soon the route will see a speed upgradation
SECR is a new zone like WCR n NCR, but SECR doesnt delay Howrah Mail o Gitanjali express like NCR WCR delays Punjab Mail or Jhelum Express,
SECR doesnt delay Howrah LTT Jnaneswari (erstwhile AC Express) or Howrah CST AC Duronto like NCR and WCR delay NZM LTT AC Express.

Bhopal despite being capital city is suffering because WCR HQ is with JBP.
If Mumbai the financial capital of India and Capital of MH loses CR HQ to NGP and WR HQ to ADI then Mumbai would be in big trouble same like Bhopal is right now.
Surat is ignored I know, but after ADI becomes HQ still there is no guarantee Surat will get trains.

Indore is not even a separate division comes in RTM div and even nasik is not a separate division comes in BSL div but they r developing tremendously
For Nasik- Pune-Nasik route planned, Manmad-Indore route planned, Nasik Dahanu road is under survey.
For Indore- manmad-indore is planned, indore jabalpur route is under survey, indore khandwa BG conversion is happening...

Except for Howrah Duronto, I guess Raipur has all seats in same quota as terminal BSP or even Durg (humsafar terminal).
It is again my personal opinion but instead of Vidarbha Extension, new separate daily BSP-Mumbai train would have been better.
I appreciate the efforts SECR is doing Speed upgradation relating to semi high speed train that is expected to start soon, not only would that lead to introduction of semi bullet but will also help BSP Rajdhani and Howrah Duronto to do 130 kmph.

Maintaining the punctuality of Trains on Mumbai-Howrah route, even after SECR formation, is appreciating fact.
we have fastest Antodaya in this route, then the superb Howrah duronto which achieves 75 kmph average despite the mps is 110 kmph mps only, imagine if instead of SECR some other xyz new zone was made to do this, it would have miserably delayed Howrah CST Duronto.
For example, see LTT NZM AC, SDAH-NDLS Duronto etc.
