Hi All.

I have a curious question related to Onward Journey tickets purchased from railway station plateforms.

I tried booking an onward journey ticket in 2ac class. Trains being 12864 and 13071....
more...
Both run daily and as I understand both are superfast class trains ( not duranto, ac express, shatabdi or rajdhani).

We filled the form correctly and when asked for booking, we were told by booking clerk on window that we have to take 2 seperate tickets. Reason - In any AC class reservation we can't book onward journey ticket.

Is that true?

My understanding so far was it should not be combination of duranto/ac express/rajdhani/shatabdi with other trains.

Since both being superfast and we booking in same (3A in both) or 2A in both trains then shouldn't it be allowed.

If it was allowed earlier but rules got changed recently can somewhere share the new rules for onward journey booking.

Please throw some light on this.

Does the railway continue issue current status say WL 1,2,3 or RAC 1,2,3 etc

This is a PRS ticket - booked over the counter at railway station. If couple of my friends are not travelling - Can i get same PNR with same status as of now for two remaining passengers and two passengers dropped from the PNR?
I know for sure it can be done for IRCTC tickets booked online. BUT is the same applicable for PRS tickets as well?
