I have heard of TOT( Transfer ot Ticket). It is that, suppose someone is having confirmed ticket, and he/she don't traveling and the ticket has NOT been cancel at boarding, his/her friend travel on the same ticket, asking TTE for (TOT) by paying full fare + Rs. 250 penalty. So is it legal or not? And is it possible the change at the station in advance or only TTE can do it?? no you cant transfer the tickets... here are the rules regarding transfer of tickets... /faq/post/1082 It can be transferred only to another member of his family, meaning, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife, by giving written request to Chief Reservation Supervisor, It cant be done by TTE I think I have not able to explain properly. Change of Name is different from Transfer of Ticket. COT can be done at railway station, whereas TOT can be done by TTE in train only, that's what I heard. The person traveling has to pay Full fare + Rs.250 penalty, and original owner will not get any refund, that's the case. what is COT? agar aap chahe to hindi mein bhi samjha sakte hain... It's totally legal and one can Transfer ticket by contacting TTE at boarding station before 24 Hrs. train departure time where can one meet TTE before 24 hrs .... ? contact TTE room or yatri mitra room situated at every station. that may be at starting station ... wat abt on a intermediate station....? tte have no power to transfer or name change.... If what you say is true, then in times of rush, when people are prepared to pay anything, an agent can book a ticket in his own name for RS 500/-, transfer his ticket to his customer by paying Rs 500 plus Rs 250 and then sell it to his customer for Rs 2000/Rs 175o and make a profit. b'coz, at that time I was in doubt, now I have confirmed with them.
