The Indian Railways is playing with innocent passengers. Just go through the status of Tr. No. 12150 Patna Pune Exp. Daily its waiting is going to around 900. What does it mean? Only by travelling in the train one can understand what does it mean. A Ladies or child is not in a position to go to Toilet. Toilet is fully packed with goods. Waiting list people occupy the whole reserve bogie and one can not even go to next seat. If you tell the person they will start fighting.
How Railway is managing waiting list 900 without adding coaches? The Rail Ministry should be given award for such management. If one has doubt then just go through

travel via HWH...I hope not such huge W/L in Azad Hind...Rly has given u alternatives...not necessary that the direct train will always show Availability.As of now no train can be introduced in this route because route is over saturated...extra coaches also cant be attached as its already running with 23 coaches..for making it 24 coaches a WDP4 loco is needed which is not present with ET shed.

Totally agreed.People who board a train should be removed then and there itself and if they don't........a fine of INR 5,000/- should be slapped against them.This "CULTURE" of traveling on W/L ticket is growing like "WILD FIRE" and the best thing is to put a cap on it.The term "Reserved" seems "Redundant" nowadays.

These WL passengers are the desperate ones who need to travel at any cost and they will take even a WL 1000 and travel on that,
And for most of the UP/Bihar bound train out of all the WL issued 70+% are PRS tickets where people do not cancel their tickets even if it remains in WL
As of now there is no mechanism to stop unauthorised travel with WL, But there can be a solution for this: Railways very well know how much of the WL will be cleared for certain train/class

so accordingly they should stop issuing PRS tickets beyond a point
Like say beyond WL 200 for SL class ticket bookings must be issued through e-ticketing only this way all the WL will automatically get cancelled after chart preparation
But i know this will not/never happen as there are not enough trains to cater to people if such measures are implemented...
