Hi, In this booking I have requested for 2 lower berths as we both are senior citizens. The site at the time of booking said if IRCTC cant confirm 2 lower seats, it will refund the amount in 4-5 days of the booking. But the status of the booking is sa that of the day it was booked. No changes. What shall I do now since it seven days since the booking was made originally. Shall i wait for a few more days or rebook after cancelling this booking.
Please advise. Thanks

Thanks for Prediction, but will the changed status will reflect in the booking in a normal way or else it will be reflected only on the day of travel.

Dear Sir,

I have cancelled one ticket and rebooked it vide PNR No. 2259313061 and it has come confirmed as you aadvised. This PNR where I have booed two tickets earlier and cancelled one is still showing waitlist 6 in front of my name, and in this PNR only I gave the remark that we need two lower berths as we are senior citizens.
Please

Practically there wont be an issue in boarding from DEC as it is the next station in another 30 mins. But be on a safer side by changing the boarding point at any PRS with a BP change request letter along with your ID details and ticket.
Kindly remove your PNR number from your post by clicking the edit tab.

You can board a train if missed, from its next halt which is in the range of 100 kms . but i have even successfully tried to do the same thing in cases when i use to take this train from jaipur to gurgaon but due to high waiting list at jaipur i use to book this train from kishangarh or even ajmer when this train did not use to stop at kishangarh.....

A few sleeper coaches are used as the second seating accommodation. Five people are allotted on the LBs, none on MBs and UBs. Similarly two on SLBs, none on SU. That's what it is AFAIK.

No, you cant.
You may try a separate booking through IRCTC by giving the option as LB, and check the tab"Book only if atleast one LB is available". IF not avbl, your money will be credited to your account after 2 days
Or approach any PRS and ask him to book only if LB is available.
