The main problem that stops authorities from starting and terminating trains at TVC seems to be track saturation. In that case why dont they operate lots of new daily long distance trains from TVC at odd hours, when traffic wont be high.I mean from 11 pm to 5 am ?

There was some talk of extending trains bound towards ers to Nemom and converting the same into a satellite station . This would mean that all trains would just need to have 5 or 10 min stop @ TVC. This would be a lot more convenient. Trains like Ananthapuri express could be extended to KCVL and can use the pit line over there. Even NCJ pass can be started from KCVL with stops @ TVC.
TVC can be used mainly to operate only prestigous trains like Kerala express, Chennai Mail, Malbar, Cannore, Sabari, Rajadhani, Jan Shatabdhi, Intercity express etc.
Railways

could commercialize some of the redundant space at TVC and use those funds for developing facilities at Nemom.

Yes coupes are available in AC 1st class. You may be accommodated in a 2 people coupe or a 4 passenger bay . This is decided at the time of charting.

There is no fare difference. In the case of a Sleeper class tcket purchased from the Booking office(not PRS) you will have to travel by de-reserved sleeper coach. On the alternative you may board a sleeper coach (only during day time ) and the TTE may based on accommodation allot you a seat and charge you the reservation charges.

how avg. speed of goa sampark kranti (train no.2450) is more than janshatabdi between panvel to madgaon.
as preference and speed of janshatabdi should be more than superfast train.

The Sampark Kranti are supposed to be the fastest trains between major stations to New Delhi. They are not mere super fast trains as you suggested.

I presume this has been due to the different number of railway minister we have had. They keep pushing up trains which they have launched. The Rajadhanis are to me the pride of railways but today you have Durontos whcih are faster than them in some sectors.
If we start a discussion on such a topic i don not think there can be ever a logical confusion . My earlier post on the thread was to only let know that the SK not be just considered as a regular super fast , that is not how they were introduced. But successive ministers have given preference to other type of trains.

This train is a flop show in the return journey from NDLS to CNB as it runs with almost 15-20% occupancy levels. It seems that this train hasn't been appreciated by
rail travellers & there was no need to start this train.

The shatabdi can not just be a bunch of trains radiating out of Chennai. IF you look at it about 8 shatabdis leave out of Delhi while Chennai and Kolkatta have two each and Mumbai just one. What kind of route rationalization is this? I am not trying to fan regional sentiments but trying to iron out a huge regional imbalance.
Today Shatabdi fares have become comparable to Volvo bus fares and most people do not think twice before booking on the same.
What I am not asking for is creation

another class of trains like with the duronto just because everybody will remember the name of the railway minister who started that class of services.
Why is it that the rest of India does not deserve a Shatabdi service ???

To my knowledge there never was a MAS -BZA shatabdi what there is a JNS which is still running albeit with not so great patronage.
About shatabdis picking up occupancy there has to be viable ones with journey time of about 4 to 5 hours covering a distance of 350 Kms. If you had a 8 hour journey most people will prefer to do it overnight and not waste a whole day on it. Something which I think happened to the Pune SC shatabdi .
Again to your

point on the Shatabdis being costlier it is when you look at a 200 KM distance but when you look at a 300 or 350 km distance the fares will beat volvo fares by a large mile.
About speed of volvo's except for the Mumbai -pune express way they can never maintain any straight line speed of over 60-70 Kms which can easily be beaten by a shatabdi.
Tell me sir how do you justify a such a huge regional imbalance ?

The MAS -CBE shatabdi was discontinued in 97 or so . At that time even the entire route was not electrified and there used to be a loco change at ED. The situation is very different. If the same shatabdis is introduced today with a 6 hour run on the line of the NDLS ASR shatabdi I am sure you are going to enjoy great patronage.

It had been converted into the intercity express. While the Koodal express was the train which was merged with the MDU -GUV to form the MS-GUV express. It had almost miror image timings with Vaigai express.

I am not sure where you go the information of koodal being a night train.
It used to leave MDU @ 12:00 and reach MS @ 20:30 Hrs
and in return direction start @ 8:00 and reach @ 16:00 Hrs or so
