I would myself predict this as confirmed since even a couple of passengers from earlier station currently booked till Shegaon/Malkapur will help confirm berths for these passengers on the vacant part of the berths beyond Shegaon/Malkapur, which cannot be given to WL tickets of Nagpur/Badnera/Akola, even if their WL number is lower.

If I book a reservation ticket for just 1 Child with No Separate berth option, will the system issue ticket? If yes, if the current availability is WL, what appears for this single child passenger? And then happens what to the status of this single child passenger after charting?
Needless to say, child is not travelling alone. There are already a group of adults having booking in AC3T. Child is now only an add-on passenger to them.

Bcoz still their is a perception out there that flight tickets are more costly in comparison to train tickets so lot of people don't even check flight rates. Second, for all intermediate stations flight facility isn't available so the only option left to people going to these intermediate is by train. After the implementation of this surge pricing no. of people having an E2E journey in premium trains has gone down a lot.

falling off running trains are reported regularly and the problem is acute in the Mumbai suburban section. Falling off trains is the second major cause of death as well, the first being the cases of persons being run over by trains.
"Equipped with automatic door locking system, two Rajdhani and two Shatabdi trains will be operational by April this year as a pilot project," said a senior Railway Ministry official.
Later on, the system will be replicated on all trains including suburban services across the country.
According to the official, "Most of the passengers fall or slip from running trains when they struggle to get into a coach and fail to enter it or get dashed against an electric pole beside tracks...There are also cases when many people lost their lives while performing stunts at gates."
It would cost the railways about Rs 20 lakh per coach to make the automatic system operational.
"Trains will not move unless all doors are closed. The guards will have the command control of the system at their cabins," the official said, "Drivers will also be given command control at a later stage."
In the new system, doors will be opened only on the platform side and those of the other side will remain closed, thus eliminating the chances of any unauthorised entry.
The status of all the doors (closed/opened) is indicated in master control panel in the guard cabin.
The new system will also eliminate the chances of passengers getting off a moving train.
The mechanism also provides an audio announcement and visual indication while opening/closing activity of the door is being done.
He said the operation of the closing or opening mechanism will not be completed if obstructions are noticed in the path of movement.
However, the doors can be locally opened by placing an emergency push button and after the train has stopped in case of alarm chain pulling or application of brake by guard.

रेल मंत्रालय ने यह निर्णय लिया है कि डिजिटल तरीकों जैसे कि डेबिट कार्ड, क्रेडिट कार्ड इत्यादि के जरिए भुगतान करने की स्थिति में उपनगरीय मार्गो के सीजन टिकटों (मासिक, त्रैमासिक, अर्धवार्षिक, वार्षिक) के मूल किराए में 0.5 फीसदी डिस्काउंट दिया जाएगा. 0.5 फीसदी रियायत देने के बाद जो मूल किराया होगा, उस पर अन्य प्रभार जैसे कि एमयूटीपी सरचार्ज, मेला सरचार्ज, सेवा कर इत्यादि, यदि लागू हो तो अलग से लगाए जाएंगे.

मंत्रालय ने आरक्षित एवं अनारक्षित दोनों ही टिकटें जारी करने के लिए यात्री टिकट सुविधा केंद्रों (YTSK) को पीओएस मशीनें लगाने और सभी बैंकों के डेबिट/क्रेडिट कार्डो के जरिए भुगतान स्वीकार करने का निर्देश देने का फैसला किया है. डिजिटल तरीकों जैसे कि डेबिट/क्रेडिट कार्डो के उपयोग के जरिए विश्राम-कक्ष की बुकिंग पर पांच फीसदी डिस्काउंट की अनुमति देने का भी निर्णय लिया गया है.
इन केंद्रों को अन्य मोड जैसे कि UPI, USSD, E-Wallet आधार से संबंद्ध भुगतान प्रणाली के जरिए भी भुगतान स्वीकार करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है. मंत्रालय ने अनारक्षित टिकट जारी करने के लिए जन साधारण टिकट बुकिंग सेवा (JTB) को भी अन्य मोड जैसे कि UPI, USSD,E-Wallet, आधार से संबद्ध भुगतान प्रणाली के जरिए भुगतान स्वीकार करने का निर्देश देने का फैसला किया है.

Discount still matters. I generally used to avoid AC3T booking from Mumbai to Pune. Now with Rs 45 less over Rs 490, I will be more inclined to consider the vacant berths (purposely not book in advance and wait for charting to be done). But 10% is still less attractive. For AC classes, it can be 20% so that more passengers can be attracked.

New Delhi: Worried over vacant seats in premier trains, railways have decided to make a few changes in the flexi fare structure to attract last minute passengers.
Currently, the fares of Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi can go up to 50 per cent more than the base fare as per the flexi fare system introduced on September 9.
However, now as per the decision expected to be notified shortly, the higher fares in premier trains can go upto 40 per cent instead of earlier 50 per cent ceiling after finalisation of the reservation chart.

Vacant berths available after the finalisation of the chart will be offered at 1.4 times higher than the base fare instead of current practice of 1.5 times increase, said a senior railway ministry official. There were 5,871 vacant berths in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains during September 9-October 31 this year, according to railways.
If a passenger wants to travel after the finalisation of the chart then he can avail it by paying only 40 per cent higher than the base fare instead of 50 per cent, subject to availability of berths, he said.
Under the flexi-fare scheme, the fare increases by 10 per cent with every 10 per cent of berths sold subject to maximum prescribed limit 1.5 times in Sleeper, 2AC, AC Chair Car and in 3AC class.
No change has been made in the fare for 1st AC and executive class of travel.
The Railways is expecting to earn Rs 500 crore in current financial year from flexi fare structure in 42 Rajdhanis, 46 Shatabdis and 54 Durontos.

Berths are vacant implies the demand is less or its a non utilized sector for the train (when berths between intermediate stations are vacant). So why pay more (1.4 times) when demand is less? Not seen this logic anywhere else. On the contrary, vacant berths should be sold at 0.8 to 0.9 times base fare to attract more passengers.

(1) Ideally, the vacant seats should be offered at normal fares if flexifare seats go unsold.
(2) IR thinks it is compulsion of the people to travel, where as it conveniently take liberty of overlooking the empty seats due to flexifare. Gradually IR shall succeed in its efforts of charging heavily for relatively poor service provided, as it is not introducing many normal fare trains and instead introducing Suvidha or special fare trains in large numbers with extortionist fares. People shall have no option but to pay through nose for relatively substandard rail travel.

20-30% extra by providing superior service (Much faster, high priority trains with superlative facilities & amenities for comfort and entertainment) is justified economically, as well as ethically. Since tatkal scheme is already there to charge more from the last minute/ business travelers, the Suvidha/ Flexi are nothing but extortion and blatant misuse of monopoly against hapless passengers. It is duty of Govt to stop any organization (Govt. or private) making misuse of monopoly against its citizens.
(4) Above is reminiscent of the old time when it was sellers market where availability of products and commodities where always short due to very strict licensing policy of Govt. But today it is a buyers’ market except for Rail travel which is one of the last guarded government monopoly. Even the defence sector is gradually being opened up to private sector.
(5) IR wants to profiteer maximum from the needy and hapless middle class paxs for the relatively substandard travel offered to them. Rich ones usually opt to spend a little more and go for ACI/ air travel rather than paying flexifares for rail journey and poor ones (vote bank) continue to enjoy heavily subsidized non ac rail travel.

See one classic example of how Dynamic Fares logic is flawed and passenger unfriendly. In Train 82505 Pune Kamakya Suvidha Special, berths will always be vacant from Pune to Panvel, no matter how much the demand will be for Kamakhya/Guwahati. This is because there will be may passengers who would have bookings from Panvel onwards. Now with dynamic fare kicking in, railways is not allowing anyone to travel from Pune to Panvel at normal fares, despite knowing that they are anyways going to go vacant. Who would pay Rs 1136 in SL Class just from Pune to Panvel? This is when 236 berths are still vacant. What happens to this fare when these berths start depleting? And how is Rs 822 dynamic fare amount for a base fare of Rs 261? This is not just 40 or 50%. This is more than 3 times the base fare. So railways is ensuring...

    The modification to the TL Update scheme - i.e. the introduction of the new RAC System - has led to some efficiency with TL Updates. More TLs are being discussed, and quickly moved up.
