The Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) has urged Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to announce a Shatabdi Express from Kalaburagi to Bengaluru in the Railway Budget.
In a letter faxed to Mr. Prabhu and released to the press on Thursday, HKCCI president Radhakrishna Raghoji and secretary Amarnath Patil said it would help commuters travelling to Bengaluru from the Hyderabad Karnataka region.He said that one more new train should be announced from Kalaburagi to Bengaluru to avert the overcrowding of the existing trains. HKCCI demanded that the Gulbarga Railway Station be upgraded as an A1 Railway Station and Wi-fi facility be introduced there. They demanded that Mumbai-Chennai Weekly Express, Lokmanya Tilak-Chennai Express and Chennai Ahmed Express, announced in the 2013-14 interim budget, be started immediately.
The HKCCI wanted the Railway Minister to give his final nod for the establishment of the Railway Division headquarters in Kalaburagi. The doubling of the railway line from Wadi to Solapur should be hastened with adequate allocation in the budget. Similarly adequate funds should be allocated in the budget for the Wadi-Gadag new line, the work on which is yet to begin, and early completion of the Bidar-Kalaburagi Railway line. Similarly the budget should also provide adequate funds for the completion of the rail coach building factory at Yadgir, the railway overbridge near Mother Theresa School, and the railway overbridge on Afzalpur road in Kalaburagi district.

SR should extend this train to Gulbarga via Lingampalli, Tandur, Sedam, Malkhed, wadi. This region doesn't have any connectivity to south coastal Andhra and Chennai.

Yes agree with you instead of halting for 11:00hrs at Lingampalli , it can be extended up to GULBARGA so that it can depart from SC at 5:30hrs & reaches GR at 9:50hrs and depart from GR at 12:40hrs as it reaches SC at 17:10hrs .
Other thing is that there no train between 6am to 12pm in this route , which benifits both the HYDERABAD KARNATAKA region peoples .

My idea is, this train can continue from secundrabad at 5:20 and reach Gulbarga at 9:30.... same way 13. 15 from Gulbarga and Secundrabad at 17:15. Solapura passenger time can be changed. The halts can be Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Tandur, Sedam, Malkhaid, Wadi.... it ll be a huge benefit for Hyderabad Karnataka (Kalyan Karnataka ) people to reach south Andhra. Aditya nagar people will be benefited...

If one attempts to buy an unreserved railway ticket through the automated ticket vending machines (ATVMs) installed at Mangaluru Central Railway Station, one might get the feeling of being in Kerala.
Because, the machine neither displays Kannada nor exhibits train routes in Karnataka. It displays information in Malayalam, Hindi and English.

former district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura told The Hindu that he would write to the authorities to introduce Kannada immediately on these machines.
“The absence of Kannada cannot be accepted at any cost and goes against the tri-language policy,” he said adding he would not have any objection for Malayam being present.
The parishat had been conducting special Kannada classes for non-Kannadiga employees of Southern Railway working in Mangaluru region, Mr. Kalkura pointed out.
At the same time, there has been lukewarm response from travelling public to get smart cards to buy unreserved tickets from ATVMs. Of the 25 such cards provided to Mangaluru Central Railway Station, only three have been bought by the public while an attendant helping people to buy tickets through the machine is given eight cards.
On an average, the attendant dispenses about 750 unreserved tickets every day, contributing to the total sale of over 7,000 unreserved tickets at Mangaluru Central, sources in the Railways told The Hindu .

Mangaluru is one of the biggest commercially strong city of Karnataka after Bengaluru, but if you land on MAQ it feels like we are in Kerala, this is Karnataka, no problem if they implement atleast tulu language but y malayalam or Tamil, do we see kannada in Ernakulam, Coimbatore, salem, etc................,

Sir.. in Coimbatoru you would have seen Malayalam and Kannada along with Tamil..... but in Mangaluru it's only Malayalam.... that's the problem.... Malayalam can come after Kannada at Mangaluru...

Since this train is occupying Majestic station's paltform at crucial hours, why dont SWR provide halt to this trains at important places like Whitefield and Malur like Jolarpet express? By this measure local people will be benefitted to the fullest. The crowd is very huge so this train can share a bit of the load from Jolarpet express. Sameway Nagarkoil express can halt at Baiyappanahalli too.

Not this train for sure.. there are no stops every 10 mins for this train in kerala like that of Island. This point is useless. Local commuters need to press for passenger trains and not for stops to express trains.

Getting a new train is diffcult scenario now. Since the platforms are busy. They can shift either Nagarkovil express to Baiyappanahalli or Kochuveli express sir to KR pura , so one platform is relieved. Else we need to demand to halt at Malur.

Anyways that demand will not come through.. SR might end up cancelling the train rather if a stop is asked everywhere.. Change of terminal is with SWR.. The Platforms at SBC is not busy during this trains departure..

This train can be terminated from ypr at 5:00pm bcs at that time ypr doesn't have much departing train. Between 4:30-6:00pm less trains depart from ypr

JTJ express has only twelve coaches sir. We can increase to 15 or even 20 , then the problem will be solved. The problem is with the RSA. SBC-JTJ express RSA part should be reworked and it can be delinked from then RSA chain . Else it can have RSA with Yelagiri express. At 8:45 , it can go to Dharmapuri as a normal express ( even DPJ does not have any train after Karaikkal passenger till 16 hrs). It can reach DPJ at 11:45 hrs. 12:45 from DPJ return 15:45 to SBC. Then it can proceed to JTJ and next day it can go to MAS where is can have maintenance .

Why our SWR can't terminate kochuveli express, nagarcoil express and seshadri express at Baiyapanahalli. Those trains belongs to other zones and occupy majestic's platform for long time. We can introduce electric trains similar to Madras for namma bengaluru as well.

That does not decrease the importance of these trains in any way. Besides, these trains parking time at SBC is a relatively free time for SBC with not too much traffic. 17236 departs within 2 hours of arriving at SBC as 17209 and arrives long after all the early morning arrivals reach SBC. That way I don't think there is any obstruction of PFs by these trains. Also, 17209 arrives mostly on PF2 or PF4 while MYS bound trains have to start from PF5 onward ( 1,2,3,4 PFs are not accessible to MYS line). So in all probability, they are not posing any obstruction to introducing a MYS bound train in the evening.

The problem for airport service or even local train service is mainly negligence and lack of interest from the SWR authorities. Lack of PF space is not the reason. Even now, there is practically no congestion on the KJM-CSDR-YNK-Chickballapur line and BYPL-Anekal road line. There is no congestion on these routes and thus no obstruction to having a local train service or airport shuttle on these routes. Even PF occupancy in BYPL or KJM or WFD is not a problem for having at least a few commuter trains every day. If the railway authorities' attitude doesn't change, even if other zones trains are not allowed into the city and terminated at the city outskirts, still there won't be any local trains within the city.
