Prabhu launched ergonomically redesigned and optimized tools for track gangs, keymen and patrolmen for Indian Railways. Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated five new activities on Monday through video conferencing from Mumbai. The Indian Railways, on Monday, introduced a new train service viz. 12493/12494 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Pune AC Express (Weekly) between H. Nizamuddin and Pune. There are seven pairs of Express trains, including 1 pair of Duronto Express trains. He also launched ergonomically redesigned and optimized tools for track gangs, keymen and patrolmen for Indian Railways and Safety at Unmanned Level Crossings
Prabhu inaugurated following activities namely: (i) New AC Weekly Express train between H. Nizamuddin-Pune (ii) Expansion of VIKALP Scheme of Alternate Train Reservation to Delhi-Howrah, Delhi- Chennai, Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Secunderabad Circuits (iii)

The Railways have decided to reroute 22207/22208 Chennai–Thiruvananthapuram biweekly superfast air-conditioned expresses via Coimbatore-Podanur from April.
The days of service of the 22208 express has been changed from Saturday to Sunday.
Additional stoppages have been provided at Salem, Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Thrissur.
The changes have been effected as per the instructions issued by the Railway Board.

It was later converted into an air-conditioned express with limited stops to overcome poor patronage.
The rerouting follows demands from Keralites in Coimbatore, a senior railway official said.
Train 22207 will leave Chennai Central at 4.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays to reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 6.45 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
It will stop at Salem Junction (8.35 p.m.), Erode Junction (9.32 p.m.), Coimbatore Junction (11.08 p.m.), Palakkad Junction (00.15 midnight), Thrissur (1.23 a.m.), Ernakulam Junction (2.45 a.m.), Alappuzha (3.40 a.m.), and Kollam Junction (5.15 a.m.). Similarly, the 22208 express will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays to arrive at Chennai Central at 11.50 a.m. on Thursdays and Mondays.
It will stop at Kollam Junction (10.25 p.m.), Alappuzha (11.32 p.m.), Ernakulam Junction (00.50 midnight), Thrissur (2.05 a.m.), Palakkad Junction (3.15 a.m.), Coimbatore Junction (4.43 a.m.), Erode Junction (6.15 a.m.), Salem Junction (7.20 a.m.), and Jolarpettai (8.55 a.m.).
The service of April 20 will be the first one to run via Coimbatore with additional stoppages.
The service of April 22 will be the first service to run via Coimbatore with additional stoppages from Chennai.
The service of Train 22208 will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central on Sundays with effect from April 24. There will be no service of Train 22208 scheduled to leave from here on April 23. .
