coimbatoreshatabdi~ 33 blog postsIt looks like due to the introduction of the very anticipated Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express which is scheduled to leave Coimbatore at 06:00, the timings of the Chennai Intercity has been changed to 06:20 departure from CBE,TUP: 07:00/07:02, ED: 07:45/07:50, SA: 08:42/08:45, JTJ, 10:33/10:35, KPD: 11:33/11:35, AJJ: 12:23/12:25, arriving at MAS at 13:50. The other stations enroute BQI: 09:14/09:15, MAP: 09:33/09:35, SLY: 09:54/09:55, AB: 10:43/10:45, PER: 13:08/13:10 have the same timings. Coincidentally this has speeded up the train by 5 minutes reducing the travel time from 7hr35mins to 7hr30mins. The timings of the return 12679 has also been changed slightly where the departure from MAS is at 14:35 and JTJ: 17:33/17:35, every other station remains the same. Please change the information on the website accordingly :)

They can use one of the up/down platforms for Cheran arrival and quickly send it to the yard. Similarly, once Uday leaves they can bring in MAQ intercity from the depot (worst case scenario). But yes I am curious to see how the allotments are going to look like.

coimbatoreshatabdi~ 33 blog postsThis train should have some reserved carriages at least like 7 second sitting (2S) and some AC Chair Car (CC) coaches so it fits the intercity name, and a lot more people will use the train. It connects many important towns and cities so there will surely be enough demand.

But don't you think they meet demands temporarily if they can add two more AC Chair Car coaches, since they should have spare ones after converting existing intercity trains to CBC/LHB rakes. And definitely shatabdi or jan shatabdi will be very successful too
