If Gatimaan really runs @160 km speed then it should cover 266 kms in 100 mts. Ok. But now, the distance it covers is just 188 kms betw HazNiz and AGra Cantt. Start time is 8.10 am and end time for this train is 9.50 hrs. So overall 100 mts travel time. In 100 mts it covers only 188 kms and not 266 kms. If it should cover this 266 kms it should have run and your loving 160 kms speed Ji !!

See Man ,
I don't need anything to prove..And nothing is my "LOVING" kind of thing..
If you disagree with me that gatimaan is NOT the fastest Train , Then Go to Court...File a PIL against the railway ministry stating that "They are Telling Lies regarding which is the fastest Train in India."
I am fed up with reasoning and debating with some "ignorant"
members here who don't even accept the OFFICIAL Documents stating that Gatimaan is the Fastest Train Of Country at Present.
Kindly Knock the doors of Court.

That is precisely the reason why average speed of Gatiman is mentioned as 112.7 kmph and not 160 kmph. 188 km in 100 minutes gives average speed of 112.7 kmph. 160 kmph is the peak speed this train is allowed to pick up.
But the average speed of Gatiman is currently highest of any trains in IR, the next highest being of some of the Rajdhanis and Shatabdis at around 85-88 kmph.

fine, you are diplomatically agreeing that Gatiman speed is not 160 kms. Let others know the way to calculate what is real speed and not ignorance.

Real speed is 160 kmph which is attained in some sections (which NO OTHER Train in india can achieve at present). But the average speed is different from Maximum Speed.
Average Speed means Total Distance / Time Taken
Maximum speed is a type of Instantaneous speed which is achieved at a particular instance of time.
a List is drawn for FASTEST TRAIN , then this MAXIMUM speed is considered ALWAYS, irrespective of distance travelled.
Even the bullet trains and TGV also don't do 400-500kmph throughout the route. They also attain this speed for some Instant time, just like Gatimaan attains 160kmph for some instance.

Platforms & Cleanliness: This site says lots of directions for cleanliness in Indian Railways. While public are accepting and adhering for cleanliness, the labour unions of Railways are not. Yes, in many stations the neatness and cleanliness is spoilt by posters pasted at several places in platforms and at places where public are revolving about. The posters reflect mood spoiling messages for the travelling public. The union's demands has to be sorted out with available procedures. What public can do on their demands? Indian Railways is a govt. property and belongs to all Indians and not for Railway unions alone. Passengers disagree and condemn these type of poster menace which spoils the system and approach for 'Swacchh ki Bharat'.

Season tickets : Request Railways to consider the increase in distance from 150 kms to 200 kms. It would benefit millions of middle class. As speed of many trains has been increased and travel time reduced, it would help commuters to avoid the strain of buying another ticket for that extra kms. If not, the railways should allow for season ticket holders alone to buy the extension tickets at the place of originating itself.

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
