Good work by WCR, their hard work has really paid off. They are in the elite group of few zones who knows what overall improvement means. Punctuality, cleanliness of trains and stations, future planning, security. In all aspects they professional. JBP-INDB rail line does looks a bit odd to many (including me). But this line might be useful in increasing the network density in MP and also will provide a shorter route to many freight and passenger trains going towards Indore.

वाराणसी से दक्षिण और पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के यात्रियों को सहूलियत देने के लिए जल्द ही नई ट्रेनें शुरू की जाएंगी। इसका प्रस्ताव पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के वाराणसी मंडल से भेजा जा चुका है। इन ट्रेनों को चलाने के लिए ‘सात दिन-सात मंजिल का नाम भी दिया गया है। नए प्रस्ताव के तहत वाराणसी से प्रतिदिन अलग-अलग राज्य के लिए ट्रेनें चलाई जाएंगी।

इन राज्यों के लिए चलेगी विशेष साप्ताहिक ट्रेन
उन्होंने बताया कि दक्षिण भारत में मंडुवाडीह से चेन्नई, कोचिन, त्रिवेंद्रम, यशवंतपुर बैंग्लोर सहित सात स्थानों के लिए ट्रेनों को चलाने का प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है। प्रस्ताव में अलग-अलग स्टेशनों के लिए अलग-अलग दिन ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी। नई योजना के तहत ज्यादातर स्टेशनों के रोजाना ट्रेनों की सुविधा मिल जाएगी। उन्होंने बताया कि पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों के सिक्किम, असम, मेघालय, त्रिपुरा, मिजोरम, मणिपुर, नागालैंड और अरुणाचल प्रदेश के लिए भी विशेष ट्रेन चलाने का प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है।

Aise trains chala k faida bhi nahi hai, jo congestion me phasi rahe aur time par na pahuche. NDLS-MGS route via CNB ki haalat sabke saamne hai. Ek k baad ek trains badha di, aur ab ye haalat hai ki 50% se zyada trains ki punctuality ki band baj gai. Majboori me via LKO route ka haath pakda par waha bhi ab congestion hone laga slowly slowly.
Waise jab tak ye JBP-BTC ka GC complete nahi hoga, shayd hi koi new trains BSB to SC/MAS/SBC ko start ho. Ek baar ye route ready ho gya to trains seedhe Balharshah se Gondia hokar Jabalpur ja sakengi. Atleast 4-5 hours save hoga es route mein.

Not sure whose side issue is, whether it is SR, IR, Kerala or TVC div. There was plan to make Nemom has 3rd terminal to decongest TVC. But nothing has happened till now. Even KCVL is still in progress..

I agree, but NCJ is already handles maintenance of trains from CAPE. Further extending Kerala bound trains will pressurize NCJ yard and as a result new trains can't be given to CAPE. Also I can understand if SR have land issues at Nemom, but for KCVL the land has already been acquired. They just have to construct new platforms and washing lines at KCVL so that it can handle more trains.

Yes , so only they planned More pit lines at NCJ but NCJ ppl are opposing saying they want trains via MDU .suppose if the rate is X at NCJ , it ll be 3X at TVC , so TVC wants to reduce cost . that's why all metro cities are getting affected now because of sky high rates . I hope KCVL is completed soon and watch Sabari Exp departing from KCVL :P

Drm JBP posted a pic of Gosalpur station of JBP-KTE section in twitter which shows cleanliness in the station but it also shows that No OHE poles or wires have been reached gosalpur station which shows that work of electrificatn is very slow on JBP-KTE section so its very sad to see it

Looking at the speed I think JBP-ET section can be energized by March next year. However, JBP-COI section might take a bit longer time. Hopefully by end of 2017 the entire section will see the E-loco's hauling trains and it will enhance the punctuality as the E-locos have relatively faster acceleration than D-locos.

110 ki max speed hai, then avg speed will be 55-60 only. However, I believe JBP-ET can be covered in 3:30-4:00 hours. Further JBP-STA can be covered in 2:45-3:00 hours, as trains need to pass slowly through JBP yard and KTE junction. Cautions can reduce the time by 30 mins max.

Howrah is difficult to access from East part & North Part of Kolkata. So Sealdah or Chitpur is best option. South India Bound train may come via Bhattanagar , Rajchandrapur, & Dumdum. Then the train crawl 7 km to Sealdah & 4 km to Chitpur. I think it is no problem to cross Hooghly River via Bally Bridge as speed of this CCR section is 90 km per hour & Andul of SER is not far. Rail is intentionally congest Howrah by excess train. I suggest at least 10 trains should be South India from Sealdah division

To decongest HWH the best solution I believe is to develop SHM in the same lines as ANVT was developed to support NDLS.
SHM has massive space and can easily accommodate 8-9 platforms along with a huge yard. Just the state government has to sort out the connectivity issue.

Maybe they don't want to load SDAH with any new trains, only locals. I think that SDAH should be reserved for locals, and KOAA(Chitpur) should be equipped for more new trains.

Yes the MG line ends there, and BG starts. However, you can commence your further journey with the same means of transportation (i.e. trains). Stations like Pathankot, Kalka are other examples where NG ends and BG starts. But IR doesn't consider them as terminal stations.
