Was wondering why most rake compositions have AC coaches somewhere in the middle... surrounded by SL and/or GEN compartments. Is there a set of rules/ guidelines in terms of rake composition from IR?

From whatever I have seen and travelled the AC compartments are never in the middle. They are always immediately behind the General Compartments at either end. In fact my complaint is that when we travel by AC compartment we have to walk a very long distance to reach the entry or exit of platform.

AC compartments are not exactly in Middle. It will be either after gen compartment(if in front) or before Gen Compartment(if in last) One side of AC compartment will be always General and other side will be sleeper.
This is inorder to make sure that, sleeper and AC is connected together, so that catering people can travel fully in sleeper and AC.
Few years before, AC, used to be in middle, but this was changed, i guess it is becasue, people in sleeper used to go through AC to reach other

end of sleeper, which created unwanted movement in AC.

it is moslty in the either end after general compartments. Reason being, shunting becomes easy, then the movement of Sleeper class people to get to other sleeper class boggies is restricted through AC compartments...

That's what my observation was too. It perfectly makes sense to have SL and AC together for the corridor, but why split SL?

Of course you have a seat to sit... perhaps sleep too, if 11 (you're RAC 11 now) confirmed ticket holders are giving it a miss! As others said, don't worry, this will be confirmed at charting.

Currently Coach composition mentioned in this site shows B1-B2 only. I bought a ticket that shows B3. Please update the information.

If I go to the train details page where system shows the station names with arrival/departure time etc, there's something wrong at distance column.
The distance to Howrah (destination) is less than the distance to previous station. Also, there's another station called "Dashnagar" that does not appear in the list.

Right, but it does not appear in the station chart for 12328 Upasana. In "all station" view, it should have appeared (similar to Tikiapara, Ramrajatala etc).
