Page# 3 blog entries  FINALLY...AC Double-Decker with Monster Seen here is IGBT & 4500hp WDP-4B # 40034 from Bhagat-Ki-Kothi (BGKT) in SHF, hauling 13 LHB AC Double-Decker coaches along with 2 EOG. It was doing 100 Kmph, since it was a city limit. However, it should have done 130 Kmph beyond Vaitarna. This rakes belongs to NW Railway, i.e. mostly for Jaipur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC Double Decker. However they are testing it on Ahmedabad Mumbai line to its maximum for checking on any technical issue. Somehow, media and news papers describe these rakes for Ahmedabad Mumbai Central AC Double Decker. Even they are claiming that it should start its regular service from June 2012 onwards. Click to open. has this rake tested for 140 kmph?? in any case RDSO had done some testing raj LHB coaches on VR - ST section with 140 kmph a year ago. also one more noticeable area is that this section has LONG WELDED RAILS (LWR) and welded crossings and thick web switches ,which makes the journey less noisy and less jerking and more faster to negotiate turnouts 1 posts are hidden. LWR are rail which are manufactured directly by steel comapanies i.e sail ltd which is 13m to about 1 km long rails which require less welding and fish plate. these are mostly 60kg rails and are used on high density routes. mum-ndls ,ndls -hwh,and ndls -agra section use 1km rail. there are less rail fractures on these rails. thich web switches is diffiuclt to explain , but it helps the train to negotiate the loop lines at a speed of 30kmph, in some section 50 to 65 also. konkan railway and delhi metro has that i suppose.more detail you can find out from RDSO website. konkan railway was the first to use thses. thanks to Dr E sreedharan 1 posts are hidden.
