NEW TIMINGS FOR BOOKING TATKAL TICKETS FROM TOMORROW i.e. 10TH JULY 2012
ARRANGEMENTS BY NORTHERN RAILWAY TO IMPLEMENT NEW TATKAL BOOKING TIMINGS

The Ministry of Railways has further streamlined the delivery of tickets under Tatkal Scheme and the new amendment in the scheme will come into effect from tomorrow i.e. 10th July 2012 (Tuesday).Under the new amendment the booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10.00 hours on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 0800 hours at present. For example, if a train is to depart from the originating station on the 2nd of the month, the Tatkal quota booking both through Internet (IRCTC Website) and reservation counters for that particular train shall open at 1000 hours...

on the 1st of the month.However, Tatkal tickets for the same day journey will be available from 8 AM till the preparation of charts for the train, since its booking had already commenced at 10 AM on the previous day.

In addition, it has also been decided that no authorised agents, including agents of IRCTC and RTSAs/RTAs will be allowed to book Tatkal tickets from 1000 hours to 1200 hours from counters as well as from Internet.

It is a paradigm shift in the procedures with the objective of staggering the load on the website and at the booking windows for the convenience of the passengers. The system shall be watched to streamline it further to ensure minimum inconvenience to the Public.

In order to implement the amendment Northern Railway has made following arrangements at the (PRS) Reservation Counters:-

BookingofnormalPRS ticketswillbeginfrom8.00 AMatall PRS countersasusual.

Tatkalticketswillbeissuedoneverycounteronly from10.00 a.m. onwards except for the same day journey till preparation of charts.

Theteabreak earlier availedbyPRS (Reservation Staff) stafffrom11:00 a.m to11:15 a.m. & 11:15 a.m.to11:30 a.m.willnowbeuniformlyavailedfrom 09:40 a.m. to09:55a.m. for all staff working at counters.

The available 15 minutes time of teabreak by the staff will be utilized to us her Tatkal passengers waitingin queue at the main gate in group of 5 into the hall and makinG queues in front of the counters as is being presently done at 08.00 AM

Entry of any passengers seeking Tatkal ticket will not be allowed insidePRS hall before09:45 a.m except for Tatkal passengers for the same day journey.

The queue of Tatkal passengers waiting at the maingate for entry into PRS hall shall be regulated exactly according to the system being followed for Sr. Citizens, Ladiesand Handicapped passengers.Their forms will be signed out side the main gate.Forms of rest of the passengers will be signed in the hall.

CRS and counter clerks will ensure complete and legible filling of name,full address & telephone / mobile numbers on requisiti on forms and production of self attested Identitycards by passengers,failing which reservation shall be denied.

Assistance of adequate RPF staff will be arranged to manage the crowd inside and out side the PRS centres.

All officers,in spectors and supervisors deputed for the duty will be present and will givea feedback to streamline the above system and extend their full cooperation by ensuringth at passenger should notface any inconvenience.
