Rake Reversal: Loco in the front gets detached and another loco from the back gets attached at the end. The same is detached and makes a quick exit. The train is switched onto some other line. So the train exits the platform in the same direction from where it entered. Only difference in rake reversal is loco change. In dead stations like HWH, the loco simply gets detached from the front - another loco gets attached at the back - train proceeds to NE India. The Loco detached from front & attached to rear (as the train needs to run in reversed/opposite direction from that station onward)!! In some case, the loco detached & loco attached @ rear may differ (not same), in case like Diesel to Electric (& vice-versa) or to minimize TAT (turn around time) | ||
