the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandik Committee (SGPC).Ludhiana MP and national spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari said this after a meeting with the Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi in New Delhi yesterday.Tewari said all preparations had been finalised and the train could start anytime. However, due to the code of conduct in force because of the SGPC elections, the train could not be introduced till the election process does not conclude and the results are declared.The MP said he had also raised some other important and long-pending issues with the Railway Minister. The completion of the new and broader footbridge towards the Civil Lines area is also going to be completed very soon. अनुसार रेल मंत्रालय की ओर से अभी तक लुधियाना-दिल्ली शताब्दी चलाने के लिए कोई निर्देश नहीं आए हैं। वहीं सूत्रों के मुताबिक यह ट्रेन चलाने में एक वर्ष तक का समय लग सकता है।गौर हो कि 2011-12 के रेल बजट में लुधियाना-दिल्ली शताब्दी को शुरू कराने का ऐलान किया गया था पर यह अभी तक शुरू नहीं की जा सकी है। इस ट्रेन में अधिकतर लुधियाना के उद्यमियों ने सफर करना था पर वे अब मायूस हैं। होजरी का कारोबार तेज होने से व्यापारियों को दिल्ली आने जाने में परेशानी हो रही है। बहादुरके रोड निवासी अभय खन्ना, अशोक शर्मा, नरिंदर सिंह ने कहा कि वीआईपी ट्रेन चलाने में रेल विभाग इस तरह लापरवाह है तो जनरल यात्रियों का तो भगवान ही बेड़ा पार करते होंगे। सुंदर नगर के उद्यमी व भाजपा नेता रमेश जैन व्यापारी भरत भूषण अरोड़ा, सचिन जैन, बब्बल जैन, बाजवा नगर होजरी एसोसिएशन के उपप्रधान डिंपल मदान, लक्ष्मीनाथ गुप्ता आदि ने की मांग है कि लुधियाना से नई दिल्ली के लिए जल्द शताब्दी चलाई जाए, ताकि व्यापारियों को सुविधा मिले।
इस संबंध में फिरोजपुर रेल मंडल के डीआरएम विश्वेश चौबे ने बताया कि रेल मंत्रालय से अभी तक कोई सूचना नहीं है। व्यापारियों की मांग को रेल मंत्रालय तक पहुंचा दिया गया है। जब उनसे पूछा गया कि अब कितना समय और लगेगा तो उनका कहना था कि मंत्रालय चाहे तो एक माह में ट्रेन चल पड़ेगी नहीं तो एक वर्ष से अधिक समय भी लग सकता है।
