A bright future is waiting for the long deprived Konkan Rly and hinterland connectivity is almost assured. Following construction of work of following projects are being started
(1) Vaibhavwadi-Kolhapur 107 KM New line project (estimated to cost Rs 2770 Crores), which is supposed to give connectivity of KR (& ports being developed along it), is slated to take a flying start with a generous allocation of 250 Crores in rail budget of 2017-18.
