CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu has charged that the Congress party had purposefully created stalemate over the Telangana statehood issue and created present political crisis in the State to divert the attention of public on several burning issues in the State. Participating as special guest at the CPI 24th State conference here on Wednesday, he said that the Congress party had announced the formation of Telangana on December 9, 2009 and later it went back with its statement on December 23, 2009. “It had constituted Justice Sri Krishna committee, but did not solve the statehood issue”, he alleged and charged that on the pretext of statehood issue the government was neglecting the public issues in the State. the government was burdening the people by increasing the power tariff, imposing VAT, and neglecting the completion of railway and other projects in the State. Reiterating that the Left parties alone were fighting for the solution to the public issues, he said that the CPI would discuss several burning public issues at its 24th State conference and chalk out future agitations along with other Left parties. The differences between CPI and CPI(M) were temporary, he said and added that they were always united for the peoples' problems. He assured to launch united fight for the cause of society.
