The Kannur – Yeswantpur – Kannur Express (16527/16528) will not stop at Podanur from July 1. The railways has removed the stoppage from the reservation system with effect from July 1. The train was running non-stop from Palghat to Erode till the stoppage at Podanur was announced in February. Sources in the commercial wing of the Southern Railway confirmed that the stoppage at Podanur beyond June 30 has not been extended. The railways should have automatically extended the temporary stoppage when the Advance Reservation Period begins. The failure to do so only indicated that the there is a move to remove the stoppage for it at Podanur.
Anand nair@News Entry# 66896 Hi Amita, thanks for the infor. But to be updated IR has also removed Banaswadi and kuttipuram stations halts for this train from July 1. That is very bad. It was very very convinient for many passengers. I have seen most people board from banaswadi and good number of people at Kuttipuram. There is no change in train running times and stopping time after removal. I request your help in posting this in your website and all dear passengers will be aware of it and raise request.
@News Entry# 66896 I am not able to book ticket from Carmelaram railway station from July1st 2012 onwards. Does any one know if this stop is removed from July1st onwards? I could not figure out any news on this. This station is very useful for those who lives in outskirts of Bangalore. If this station is removed, then I don't think it should be due to revenues but just the push from Private bus owners. They don't want these stoppages. One can easily notice the number of passengers taking Carmelaram stop. It this stop is removed, its funny that a city like bangalore which is having highest traffic, only 1stop (starting station) would be present. It takes hours to travel from one place to another in Bangalore. ... Read more...
