The railway police in Kozhikode are groping in the dark about the identity of those who threw stones and hurt eight-year-old Khadeeja who was traveling by the Alappuzha-Kannur Intercity Express on Sunday.A team of officials led by additional sub-inspector E. Sudhakaran visited the hospital near Kuttippuram where the girl was admitted and registered the statements of the mother who accompanied the girl in the journey.“We could not take the statement of the girl as she is yet to recover consciousness,” police said. The officials held a preliminary investigation in the Pallippuram area on Tuesday and quizzed some of the shop owners and residents.The team would visit Pallippuram again on Thursday.
