Police have registered cases against an assistant goods train engine driver and also against a few policemen including an Inspector of Police following an alleged scuffle in the railway canteen at Meelavittaan on Thursday evening.According to the police, when Grade I constable of SIPCOT police station Subramanian was taking tea at the Railway Canteen at Meelavittaan here on Thursday evening, assistant goods train engine driver M. Sivakumar of Alangulam in Tirunelveli district dashed against him accidentally.As it led to heated arguments between them and also a minor scuffle, police rushed to the canteen. When the law-enforcers tried to arrest Sivakumar, his colleagues resisted it. Based on the complaint from Subramanian, police have registered case against Sivakumar under Section 506 Part I of IPC (Criminal intimidation), Sec. 323 of IPC (voluntarily causing hurt) and Sec. 332 of IPC (preventing or deterring public servant from discharging his duty).Police have also filed case...
