The railways has suspended Pinki Pramanik, the athlete who was arrested on Thursday following rape charges brought against her by a woman. Pinki had joined Eastern Railway in 2003 as a ticket examiner. "Pinki has been suspended under the central government's service rules," said Samir Goswami, chief public relations officer, Eastern Railway. The rules say an employee has to be suspended if he/she spends 48 hours or more behind bars. "During the suspension period, Pinki will get half her salary," added Goswami. "The suspension can be withdrawn if she is cleared of the charges." nTrains: South Eastern Railway will run the Santragachhi-Kochuveli (Kerala) summer special and the Shalimar-Chennai superfast summer special for another week. The Kerala-bound train will leave Santragachhi at 4.05pm on June 23 and the Chennai-bound one will leave Shalimar at 12.20pm on June 19 and 26.
