The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has put its act together to offer improved services through its website.
Not only is the organisation trying out a new ticketing application, it has also employed IT graduates on its pay rolls. Besides, it has been running several security checks to counter the menace posed by the touts.
Recently, IRCTC conducted an e-mail verification exercise by which 44 lakh  multiple user IDs were deactivated, so far,  since November 30.
An oft-heard complaint against the IRCTC website was its gross inefficiency. However, officials cited that efforts had been made over the years to substantially increase its load capacity.
