Over 400 motormen of Western Railway went on a strike on Friday over minor issues. The strike was called off within hours as the protesting workers returned to work by the evening.   The strike that lasted barely for four-and-a-half hours, however, was enough to disrupt local train service on various routes in Mumbai. In less than two hours after the strike started around 3 pm, the frequency of trains came down.   Railway officials said 434 motormen of the zone had gone on the strike. The issues raised by the striking workers were sorted out within hours after talks.   Earlier, as a precautionary measure, announcements were made at the local stations appealing commuters to take alternative means of transport instead of depending on local trains.   The brief strike, however, was enough to cause inconvenience to thousands of passengers as several trains were delayed and fewer trains plied...
