The State has sought the approval of Railways for 20 road overbridges (ROBs) above level crossings to ensure hassle-free movement of road users.
Minister for Public Works G. Sudhakaran, who is also in-charge of Railways, said the ROBs would be constructed at 50:50 cost sharing between Railways and the State.
The ROBs proposed are at the level crossing gates at Thakazhi-Kunnuma, Harippad-Cheppad, two in Mahe-Thalassery corridor, Thalassery- Ettikottayi, Alappuzha ESI Junction, Pattambi- Pallipuram, Kozhikode- West Hill, Pazhangadi-Payannur, Payannur- Cheruvathur, Shoranur Junction- Vadanamkurissi, Mulankuthukavu-Ponkunnam, Irangalakuda- Chalakudy, Amabalappuzha- Thiruvalla, Kayamkulam- Oachira, Ernakulam- Kumbalam, Karunagapally-Sasthamcottah, Ollur-
Puthukad, Cheppad- Kayamkulam Jucntion, Perinad- Kollam Junction, the Minister said.
