A very thought provoking info.
FM (super RM?) says, "passengers must pay for the service availed"- but which passengers, only the targeted ones (ACII,ACIII,ACC, sometimes SL) or all the paxs?
Further it is told that power sector and highway sector has been reformed and customers who were earlier not paying for the services are now paying for the services availed.
Should we expect...
more... Politicians, Rly employees, senior citizens, etc to pay full fare as they pay electricity fares/ busfares/ taxi fares?
Should we expect stoppage of concession showered by past RMs to garner votes/ appreciation?
Why it is expected that paxs should pay for inefficiencies of IR?
Reform in power and highways had been possible by liberation of the sectors i.e. breaking the shackles of state monopoly in the sectors by introducing competition in the fields and large scale involvement of Pvt sector.
Atleast IR can be made a PSU and sign a MOU with GOI regarding the achievement of targets of performance parameters, so that there is a strong commitment to improve and achieve better performance/profits and reduction in political interference.
