MUMBAI: The CR cancelled 33 services during peak hours on Saturday after all the four pantographs of an EMU got entangled in the Overhead Equipment (OHE) between Titwala and Ambivali on the CST-bound line at 5am in Ambivali.
Six mail and express trains too were held up. While two trains were brought to Kalyan by diesel locomotives, three others were rescheduled. CR divisional railway manager Ravinder Goyal said, "The material that holds the catenary wire broke, leading to the OHE getting entangled. The material will be sent to laboratory for testing."

A CR official said, "We had to replace 170m of wire." Traffic was restored at 10.55am and Gorakhpur-LTT Express crossed the section at 11.08am, a spokeperson said.
Alert citizen averts derailment of local
An alert citizen averted a train derailment between Koperkhairne and Ghansoli early on Saturday after he informed the motorman of a Thane-bound local of a rail fracture. Though a tragedy was averted as the train was stopped immediately, the incident affected trans-harbour services between Thane and Vashi and towards Panvel for over an hour.
