The 06027/06028 Erode-Chennai Egmore-Erode special fare train is being modified as bi-weekly train from December 17 to 31.
A press release from the Salem Railway Division said that the partial modification will be for services on December 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31. The composition is revised as 13 general second class unreserved coaches, plus two luggage cum brake vans instead of six reserved coaches, four unreserved coaches and two luggage cum brake van.
The release said that discount/rebate on vacant berths has been introduced in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains from December
15 to 31 on a trial basis. Vacant berths available after preparation of charts will be sold at a 10 per cent discount over the last ticket sold prior to charting. From September 9 onwards, Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Duronto tickets are being sold on the flexi fare system.
These tickets will be available on current counters as well as via“E” ticketing. Passengers can buy these tickets through current counters or IRCTC portal up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train
