Allahabad: Dense fog has affected the movement of several trains running through the Allahabad division. With several trains running behind schedule, passengers continue to suffer and bear the brunt of adverse weather conditions.The average speed of the trains, which is around 100 km per hour, has come down to 35 to 45 km/hr. Trains coming from Delhi, especially on the Delhi-Howrah route, are the worst hit. Prayagraj Express, Nandankanan, North East Express, Kalka Mail, Jodhpur-Howrah, Shiv Ganga, Rewanchal, Magdh Express, Swatantreta Senani Express, are running over nine hours behind schedule.
Even the Rajdhani express, which originates from New Delhi, is running late by 13 hours.

"We had planned a trip to north-east in last week of December, but going with the conditions, we have made up our mind to cancel our trip," said Sunil Tripathi, manager of a private bank in the city.
Even as trains continue to run late, the waiting rooms are seen swarmed with passengers. The worst hit are the families travelling with their kids. "Because of fog, we made sure to travel with enough eatables so that we are not left stranded," said Prachi Pandey, a passenger.
