A mob assaulted an on-duty ticket checker of the WR on Tuesday at the station master’s office in Khar, after he fined a passenger travelling without a ticket in the first class compartment.
According to the Bandra GRP, the TC, Swapnil Pawar, caught the offender in a Churchgate-bound local. Sources said that the passenger was travelling on an expired first-class ticket and was fined Rs 330.
The passenger got into a brawl with the TC. He gathered a mob when he was forced to get down at Khar, and later fled from the scene. The mob, however, attacked the TC and damaged the station master’s office. Three persons have been arrested in the case.
