Palakkad Railway Division has introduced additional PoS machines at Kozhikode and Mangaluru Central Passenger Reservation Centres from Monday, stated a press release.
These PoS terminals are in addition to the machines (one each) which have been already functioning at these PRS centres. The PoS machines will be provided at 20 locations over the division—Pollachi, Palakkad town, Palakkad Junction, Ottappalam, Shoranur, Angadippuram, Malappuram, Tirur, Feroke, Satellite PRS Counter at Kozhikode Medical College, Wayanad, Badagara, Mahe, Tellicherry, Kannur, Payyannur, Kanhangad, Kasargod, Mangaluru Junction and Mangaluru Satellite Counter (near Mangaluru City Corporation office) within three days.

scheme will be extended to Integrated Passenger Reservation/Unreserved ticketing system counters in the next stage. It has been decided to install PoS machines at various locations over Indian Railways to allow transactions using debit /credit cards. State Bank of India has been mandated to install 10,000 PoS machines at various locations over Indian Railways.
Helpline number
In view of cancellation of trains due to rough weather condition at Chennai and places around, Palakkad railway division has opened a helpline to update information on train operations under its jurisdiction. Passengers can reach out the helpline through landline BSNL Number 0491- 255 6198, according to a press release.
