Vikas Corporation (MRVC).“ Halts at the new station will not impact punctuality as trains will have astoppage of 15-20 seconds only .
The station's inauguration had earlier too been put on hold as the state government delayed its renaming, which was referred to as Oshiwara station.WR had to carry out changes in signage at stations, public announcement systems at platforms and trains, besides incor porating changes in indicators. The station has been named Ram Mandir as the area nearby is popularly known after the temple.
Oshiwara station was proposed between Jogeshwari and Goregaon under phase I of the MUTP . Work was expected to be completed by 2008 but was stalled following protests by locals who demanded a road overbridge as an alternative to the level crossing gate.
Prabhu will, however, declare platforms at Diva station open for halts for fast trains on Central Railway's main line on Sunday . CR plans halts for at least 12 pairs of trains for Diva's one lakh commuters Prabhu will also inaugurate platform 7 for long-distance trains at Dadar on WR. Besides, there will be the inauguration of FOBs, escalators and Wi-Fi.
