Total cost of works in two corridors pegged at Rs.1,800 crore
In a significant milestone in the construction of the metro railway in Vijayawada city, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) on Monday invited e-tenders for work costing Rs. 1,800 crore.
The approximate cost of the work in the first corridor between the Pandit Nehru Bus Stand (PNBS) and Nidamanur has been pegged at Rs. 969 crore. The cost in the PNBS-Penamalur corridor is Rs. 831 crore.
PNBS-Nidamanur corridor work comprises part design and construction of an elevated viaduct, 13 elevated stations, depots’ connection, Pre-Engineered Steel Building (PEB) roof entry and exit structures of the stations, architectural finishing and plumbing.
The elevated stations are proposed to be constructed at PNBS, east and south points of the railway station, Besant Road, Seetharampuram Signal, Machavaram Down, Padavalarevu, Gunadala, Ramavarappadu Ring, Prasadampadu, MBT Centre, Enikepadu and Nidamanur.
Tender documents for this corridor can be purchased from December 5 to January 16.
They have to be submitted between January 12 and 16.
The PNBS-Penamalur corridor works include part design and construction of an elevated viaduct, 11 elevated stations and other components as stated above.
Elevated stations
The elevated stations in this corridor will come at Victoria Jubilee Museum, IGMC stadium, Tikkle Road, Benz Circle, Auto Nagar Gate, Ashok Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Kanuru, Tadigadapa, Poranki and Penamalur.
Tender documents for this corridor will be available for purchase from December 8 to January 19. The period during which documents have to be submitted is January 16-19.
The Vijayawada (Amaravati) metro rail was entrusted to the DMRC in August-September 2015 and its cost had been pegged at Rs. 6,770 crore.
