Vadodara: The Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh (WRMS) has planned a demonstration at Electric Loco Shed in Navayard over numerous demands on Thursday . WRMS has raised 10 demands about pension schemes, improvement of grade pay, minimum wage, recalling of foreign direct investment (FDI) in railways, enhancing medical allowances and providing better promotional chances.
WRMS said that the new pension scheme should be scrapped since many railwaymen die every year in accident. For providing better promotional chances, they have demanded that the categories of grade I and grade II technicians be merged. There is also a demand for improving grade pay of supervisors, increasing minimum wage to Rs 21,000 and medical allowances of retired employees to Rs 2,100.
