The timings of Train No.16575 / 16576 Yesvantpur – Mangalore Jn. – Yesvantpur tri-weekly ‘Gomoteshwara’ express trains are to be revised.
The timings of ‘Gomoteshwara’ express trains will be revised with effect from 01.06.2017 ex Yesvantpur and 02.06.2017 ex Mangalore Jn.There will be no change in the composition of the trains and the days of service.

Western Railway conducted regular checks during April, 2017 where in near about 2.60 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel including unbooked luggage cases were detected, resulting in recovery of Rs.12.18 crore which is more than the corresponding month of the last year. During the month, 23 cases of illegal transfer of reserved tickets were detected. Besides, 1035 beggars & unauthorized hawkers etc were apprehended, evicted, fined and more than 149 persons were sent to jail.

As a result, 111 persons were apprehended and prosecuted and fined under various sections of Railways Act. During the month of April 2017, 110 school children above 12 years of age were detected traveling in ladies compartment of suburban trains and were removed from ladies compartment by Surakshini squad. Western Railway regularly conducts drive against ticketless travellers. In its endeavour to provide better services to its bonafide rail users and also to curb ticketless travelling, WR has regularly been taking necessary steps. Senior Officers are closely monitoring the revenue loss due to ticketless travel and such other irregularities. WR urges all rail users to buy proper railway ticket and travel with dignity.

Regulation of trains
Due to Line block and Power block of 5.30 hrs. for construction of Road Under Bridge in lieu of LC No. 13 between Pilamedu and Coimbatore North stations on 23rd May, 2017 and 30th May, 2017 (Tuesdays), following trains will be regulated enroute:-

1.Train No. 12677, KSR Bengaluru- Ernakulam Express, will be regulated enroute between Pilamedu and Coimbatore North station and will be handed over 70 minutes late to Podanur Junction on 23rd May, 2017.

2.Train No. 12677, KSR Bengaluru- Ernakulam Express, will be regulated for 10 Minutes between Salem and Pilamedu on 30th May, 2017.

3.Train No. 12678, Ernakulam- KSR Bengaluru Express, will be regulated enroute between Coimbatore North and Pilamedu and will be handed over 80 minutes late to Omalur on 30th May, 2017.

Shri Rajen Gohain, Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways, Shri A.K. Speaking o­n the occasion, Hon'ble Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhu said that the inauguration of 16 passenger amenities at various stations of Mumbai in a single day is an important event. He said, Mumbai is the commercial capital of India. Around 80 lakhs passenger travel in the Mumbai Suburban Railways, Railways is always trying its best to provide better passenger amenities. Lifts, escalators, Foot over bridges are to be provided at small stations too. Railways need cooperation of the travellers in maintaining its property. Railways is working with State Government to form Joint Venture so that other Rail Development projects are initiated soon. He also said that projects of station development of Mumbai area will be taken o­n priority to boost facilities.

The 100th Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Shri S N Agrawal, General Manager, South Eastern Railway at Riviera Hall near Howrah Station this morning (17/5/2017).
The ZRUCC Meeting was attended by Shri Sultan Ahmed, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Shri Bidyut Baran Mahato, Hon’ble Member of Parliament and 24 other members representing various fields and diverse interests including Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Passenger Associations etc. from three states viz. West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand which fall under the jurisdiction of S E Railway. Addl. Director General, Railways, West Bengal and IG Railway, Odisha were also present.

Hon’ble MPs and Members were apprised of the excellent performance and developmental activities of S E Railway through a Power Point Presentation. General Manager, S E Railway said that it is a matter of great pride that S E Railway has received the Govind Vallabh Pant Shield from the Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu for overall performance in the National Railway Week Celebrations held at Raipur recently. GM said that Traffic Transportation Shield was also won by S E Railway for record performance in Freight as well as Passenger Traffic.
All the members put forward their views and suggestions. They appreciated the efforts of S E Railway to increase the passenger amenities and issues relating to train running. Deliberations in form of suggestions put forth by the members towards service improvements were also discussed in a cordial manner. Suggestions and demands of the members included running of more trains, extension of services, stoppages of trains, construction of Road Over Bridge, cleanliness in trains and stations, better parking facilities etc.
General Manager, Shri Agrawal in his address said that the serious note would be taken o­n suggestions and demands made by the members. He further stated that S E Railway would initiate actions to address the demands within its competence. GM also spoke about the need of co-operation of the Hon’ble Members for better running of train services and overall cleanliness. He also mentioned about the measures taken by SER in regard to passenger amenities and extending more benefits to the passengers.
An election for ZRUCC (Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee) to NRUCC (National Railway Users’ Consultative Committee) through secret ballot was held during the meeting. Dr. Arun Tewari has been elected for NRUCC as a representative of S E Railway ZRUCC.

301 Route kilometres and 517 Track Kilometres in o­ne go. CRS authorization issued for electrical traction of Guntakal-Chiksugur section (136 Rkm) and Nallapadu-Cumbum section (165 Rkm).
Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway has been focussing o­n providing new impetus to the speedy completion of all infrastructural works o­n SCR. He conducted extensive works review meetings with Rail Viksas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Centre for Railway Electrification Organisation (CORE) officials to facilitate timely execution of the projects. His initiatives facilitated timely approval of plans, budgetary sanctions and speedy execution of the works as well as prompt certification of Commissioner Railway Safety for the projects which helps in the Operational convenience and improving the mobility of Passenger and Freight Trains. It is a new record in the history of South Central Railway to get CRS authorisation for 517 kms length of Electric Traction in o­ne go
Guntakal-Raichur-Wadi Electrification project
The Guntakal-Raichur-Wadi section which provides a vital link towards Mumbai and North India from Chennai, Bengaluru and Southern parts. Guntakal-Wadi Electrification project was sanctioned in the year 2009-10. This section has 228 Route Kilometres and 547 Track Kilometres. The Guntakal-Chiksugur section comprising 136 route kilometre length was authorized for introduction of electrical traction by Commissioner of Railway Safety recently. The entire project was executed with an expenditure of 207.7 crores. The electrification works of this section were taken up in two parts i.e., Wadi-Raichur & Guntakal-Raichur sections. Wadi-Raichur section has a length of 107 route kilometres and a length of 260 track kilometres. Guntakal-Raichur section has a length of 121 route kilometres and a length of 287 track kilometres. This section is having a total of 26 stations Enroute, 49 Manned level crossings and 17 Un-manned level crossings.
The completion of electrification between Wadi and Guntakal will enable to run Trains with Electric engines between Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru, Chennai. Commissioner of Railway Safety authorised for running of electrical locomotives o­n Chiksugur-Guntakal Sectionrecently.
Electrification of Nallapadu-Cumbum Section (165 Rkm)
The electrification of the Section Nallapadu-Cumbum-Diguvametta-Dhone-Guntakal, with a total 426 Route Kilometer was sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 363.32 Cr. during the year 2012-13. So far an amount of Rs.261.46 was incurred for the Nallapadu-Diguvametta section.
As a part of the electrification project, the section between Nallapadu-Cumbum is completed o­n Guntur-Nandyal-Guntakal rail route. Nallapadu-Cumbum section comprises of 165 Route Kilometers and 200 Track Kilometers. Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Central Circle/Secunderabad has conducted statutory inspection and authorized for introduction of passenger train services o­n electric traction was issued.
The advantages of this Electric Traction in the section of Nallapadu-Cumbum
will be –
The passenger Trains between Tenali-Markapur can be converted from Diesel Loco hauling to Electric Loco hauling which will save diesel cost, avoid pollution with increased sectional speed for optimum utilization.
All Diesel hauled Trains (Passenger/Goods) will run o­n Electric Traction from Vijayawada to Guntur and can be extended up to Markapur covering also Narsaraopet and Vinukonda.

Might be SCR is transporting something through goods till Markapur which might be useful for industries around markapur, i guess. That is for goods train going only till Markapur, not for goods trains going beyond.
