* Earlier IR was contemplating construction of diamond quadrilateral High Speed Corridors of about 10000 kms length with a speed potential of 300-350 kmph. Now it want the to reduce the speed to 250kmph to save on costs.
* It would be better to spent money in construction of parallel DFCs and the conventional track can simultaneously be upgraded to 200-250 kmph with minimal expenditure.
* New High speed corridors should be planned with speed potential of 320-350kmph which is current global benchmark.
