Contents of Exhibition : The main feature of this exhibition is the pictorial presentation of futuristic projects like elevated corridor, escalator and new station buildings, which is very informative. It depicts various aspects of suburban system through attractive photographs and slide shows. Photographs of 125 years of Bandra station, 100 years of Harbour services on WR, 50 years of exhibition on Western Railway and 10 years of Train Management System, Western Railway'se-connect i.e IT , yearly round up and Milestones mainly on being 'First on Indian Railways' .
Main Attractions: ØThe main attractions of the exhibition include scrolls depicting historical landmarks as well as interesting working models , scrollers of Rail fans photographs. ØRailway enthusiasts can also purchase attractive Heritage Greeting Cards, book marks , ready recknor (tariff card) etc from the Sale Counter.
Social Awareness Issues: Safety of its esteemed commuters has also been a prime concern of Western Railway. Various drives are regularly carried out by WR to warn/educate public on various safety related issues such as trespassing, roof top travelling and safety at level crossings. WR will showcase these social messages as well as messages on issues on Drugging, Ticketless Travelling, Cleanliness, etc.
Participation of Railway Enthusiasts : For the first time Western Railway has given platform to railway enthusiasts for participating in WR Exhibition. Members of IRFCA, a group of Railway enthusiasts have expressed their keen interest to participate in this exhibition by providing beautiful photographs of train and locomotives etc. Hence, a Public Participation Corner has been set up in the Exhibition for the first time. First EMU service in Dahanu Road-Churchgate will be flagged off by Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal, Hon'ble Minister of Railways in a function at Dahanu Road Railway station on 16th April, 2013. Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra will be the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries will also be present on this occasion. The EMU train which will be flagged off by Hon'ble Minister for Railways at 10.10 hrs from Dahanu Road will run stopping at all stations between Dahanu Road and Virar and then as a fast train between Virar and Churchgate. With only a couple of trains introduced in 1867 in Churchgate–Virar section, the suburban system has become the lifeline of the city, carrying more than 36 million commuters today. The history of EMU trains in Western Railway's suburban section in Mumbai dates back to 1928 when EMU trains were first introduced. To cater to the increasing volume of commuters, Western Railway was first to introduce 9-car EMU trains in 1962. Similarly, Western Railway was pioneer in introducing 12-car trains on its suburban section in 1986. Later, Western Railway earned the distinction of being 1st railway to introduce country's largest 15-car trains on its suburban section.
15 new EMU trains have been introduced in Churchgate-Dahanu Road Section.2 shuttle trains running between Dahanu Road and Borivali have been replaced by EMU and extended upto Churchgate.2 EMU services running between Dadar and Virar have been extended till Dahanu Road and 1 EMU services running between Churchgate and Virar has also been extended to Dahanu Road.
Apart from above, 4 MEMU services which were running between Dahanu Road and Virar have been extended upto Dadar.

The train will halt at Pratapnagar, Kelanpur, Khundela, Bhilupur, Thuwavi, Dabhoi Jn, Vadhvana, Amalpur, Sankheda Bahadurpur, Chuchapura, Jojwa, Bodeli, Jabugam, Suskal, Pavi, Tejgadh and Puniyavat stations in both the directions. Night Jumbo Block at Bandra Terminus (Main) and Yard
To carry out maintenance work of track, signalling & overhead equipments, a jumbo block of five hours will be taken at Bandra Terminus (Main) and Yard from 23.00 hrs to 04.00 hrs in the night falling between Sunday/Monday, 31st March/1st April, 2013. There will be no jumbo block during day time on WR suburban section on Sunday, 31st March, 2013. All suburban services will run as per schedule.
To facilitate the passengers during summer holidays, Western Railway will run summer special train between Indore and Patna Jn from 4th April, 2013 to 29th June, 2013.

Making the daily commute more comfortable Western Railway will introduce 40 new suburban services of 15-car and 12- car on Churchgate-Virar section from 29thMarch, 2013. It will introduce two more 12-car Ladies Special trains between Churchgate and Vasai Road, taking the total number of Ladies special to 8 on its suburban section.
