Sir,the one under Blue Sheds,are those Petroleum Bottling Plants in BTPN...???Does it belong to IOC/HPCL/BPCL....Please reply Sir asap..!!!

Yes...Guru Govind Singh Refinery....

The left side blue sheds are of coke loading section (to railway wagon).....& the right one are some compressor shed of other refinery units....the big tanks (both coloured & cemented) are storage tank for petroleum products like Diesel, Petrol, Kerosene....etc...some are roofed & the open tanks are having floating heads..

What are floating heads? Is it what I am thinking?

Generally speaking, if the stored products don't need any vapour space over its top surface, then roof of the tank is designed in this fashion, so that, with change in height of liquid stored, the roof floats up & down, giving almost no free space over the surface.

& Normally how many BTPN Rakes this Refinery handles everyday?

Also Sir,what is the concept behind Petroleum Marketing Terminals..???For eg,there is a Petroleum Refinery in Upper Assam's Golaghat Distt in Numaligarh but the Marketing Terminal is situated almost 800 km downstreams at Rangapani,New Jalpaiguri...I've seen BTPN Rakes in the bottling plant @ RNI.....So what will be its primary function...???-->carrying refined lubricant from Numaligarh-Rangapani.??? Or from Rangapani to some other places..?? I hope I'm able to explain the question clearly.

Its a petroleum pdk....mainly...coke can also be obtained by carbonization of coal...but due to presence of ash & volatile matters, production is too small....

Thanks for ur reply..actually I heard that all the refineries in North East,namely,Noonmati,BRPL,Digboi,Numaligarh are producing HSD's only....BTW,where is this coke used..?? Is it something that we find @ Petrol Pumps @ Rs 74/ltr....if not then can HSD be directly consumed as a Fuel in Motor Vehicles?Thanks in Advance :)

As per my IRFCA Loco Gyan .... WDM-2s are the Second Type of Diesels launched by IR way back in around 1962. These Alcos are only fit for MPS of 120 Kmph due to which they were used in Twin Mode for hauling Bombay Rajdhani Exp during 1970s, 80s & Early 90s. It's still good to see that LDH has preserved these old power horses, inspite of getting 130 Kmph capable WDP-4 & WDM-3A Locos :-)
