Why it is shameful when Kerala is not having direct trains to RMM?

might be because rameswaram is one of the leading tourist pilgrimage point of not only south india but the entire nation...and kerala is neighbouring state...

still the question remains...what is so shameful in it?

Not sure what is so shameful in that...that way RMM is not connected with almost no North Indian city (BSB being the only exception) including Delhi....so I don't think its a big deal...

It is so pity Mr. Akhil, RMM & Cape are very very important to every Hindu due to the Sethu Samudram in RMM & Triveni Samudram in Cape to perform the rituals & rites to our ancestors according to our Hindu Mythology.Not only Kerala, every State needs to be connected to these 2 places and also to Varanasi.But when the Railway Board reacted to the needs of Public of large? Due to political pressure to get support from the Minority vote bank, whatever the screams of majority, it will go into deaf ears only.

As BG sir said rameshwaram is a famous pilgrimage Centre and it's not connected to neighboring kerala. and if you don't like the word shame.. plz ignore it and concentrate on the rest.. :-)

but this route is too long from RMM to ERS...the short route is via RMM-MDU-POY-PGT-ERS...

RMM is not connected to many places in the Nation,forget Kerala.
And I heard there is restriction on the number of trains moving on Pamban bridge. And most importantly, how many tens of thousands are going to RMM annually ?

so until then they can consider for a slip coaches with 22621/22...also from TVC to RMM the short route is via QLN-SCT-VPT-MNM which is also under GC now..

annually nearly 1 crore ppl visits Rameswaram....here is the news cutting...During 2011 98 lakhs tourists/pilgrims visited RMM...

it is not tens of thousands people/tourists visiting RMM..it is in tens of lakhs(nearly 1 crore)....there may be fluctuations in different years..but it will remain btwn 40 lakhs to 90 lakhs annually...

for a direct train to TVC from RMM,TVC division should take necessary step...

I think mnm-vpt-sct-qln is the shortest path to tvc frm rmm. in that case, sct-qln gc should get cmplte...

RMM-MNM-SCT-QLN-TVC=113+269+65=447km

but even to cape it is a tri-weekly only which is not at all enough for the demand and patronage..

more chances for RMM-HWH than RMM-TVC SF exp.....

of course, it is,but will not be a reality in the near future.

selva, RMM-MNM-SCT-QLN-TVC will be very usefull but the SCT-PUU stretch is not yet complete
RMM-NCJ-TVC Daily exp will help in connecting TEN & MDU with TVC

ya agree..but it is in the hand of TVC division only..even if MDU division is ready to introduce a train from RMM-TVC via NCJ then TVC division should agree for that..

it's the sadest parts, why TVC is not willing to introduce or even suggest it

but after GC between POY-PGT,definitely there will be a direct train from RMM to PGT

Yes very soon MPS will be increased in VM-KPD section. High speed trail test successfully completed. Hope so in July month TT MPS will be increased.......

they should reduce the traveling time to atleast 15:30 hours....

ya,the same arrival and departure time is much better so SR wont do that may be i expect early arrival at MV and from it can take 2hrs 45 mins to cross katpadi...

but how it is possible to change the arrival time @ MV???because it has good speed between TPJ-TJ-MV...

the average delay time at MV is 30 mins to 45 mins....it doesn't reaches MV at scheduled time....

yes now meenakshi exp taking 5 hrs from VM-KPD from july 1st it will take just 3 three hours to cross katpadi....

SR could follow the old MG era like all ML trains were changed their diesel to electric LOCO at VM,now all trains between VM-KPD will get electric loco mostly PDY bound trains were hauling electric loco from PDY itself....

for MS terminating trains no need of electric locos, BBS RMM BSB RMM meenakshi can have loco change @VM

i said for trains which used in MG era same can be followed from vm-kpd line....

if avg delay time is about 30-45 mins then whether boatmail is always delayed @ MV????as it trails after Meenakshi from TPJ.....

little speed can be increased and 15-16 hours will be good...not more than that...and the down train TPTY-RMM oh god 20 hours.........

S bro. in dg-tpj-tj meenakshi gets delayed.
usually arrives tj also with 30-40 min delay and make up this delay in mv-vm stretch.
also now a days boatmail reaches tj around 12.00 am only.

i think may be due to the doubling work btwn DG-TPJ will be the reason for delay...

Also in tpj-tj it has 2 crossings bro. (tj-tpj pass and chendur)...

sometimes boat facing operational issues at tpj if maq-ms or rf get delayed...
even though boat reaches tj around 12, it reaches tbm around 5.50 which is on time.

I think 90cr has been allocated in this budget. i read it in a news paper that inital yard remodeling works are going to be started in all crossing stations goc, trb, solgampatti, alakudi, budalur as yard remodeling is abt to finish at tj by june end.

If they plan to complete budalur-alakudi-tanjore stretch 1st, that will reduce the bottle neck at tj and also reduce 40% traffic...

but i prefer budalur thiruverumbur first. it saves more than 60% of time of travel for passenger trains

for better timings of Meenakshi,TT must be speeded up btwn RMM-MDU,VM-KPD-TPTY...

for that nothing can be done..only solution is fast completion of TJ-TPJ doubling.....but from RMM the train usually reaches MDU 10-15 mins earlier always...so only said for speeding up btwn RMM-MDU

hmm,, those r slack no probs. VM-KPD should be speeded up. TPJ TJ doubling also helps it in right time on tracks.

VM-KPD-TPTY max of 5 hours is enough...
so as of now RMM-VM=10.45 hrs and VM-TPTY=5 hrs..
Totally 15.30-15.45 hours is enough including slack....

let me say an example why am saying tj-budalur to b completed 1st.
if 4.30pm tpj-ncr pass passed alakudi, then tea garden shud be holds at tj till pass reaches tj which will make mys exp to be put on hold at tj outer. also tea garden wil have a crossing conflicts at alakudi with mnm-mq pass and mys exp shud be on hold until mq pass reach tj and mys exp wil hav crossing conflicts at alakudi wit tpj-mv pass... mean while goods traffic also... so that i suggested this...

This TPJ-MV pass further delays mv-tpj pass, rockfort and mv-tj pass. shabba... evening 4 to 9 its very busy at tj...

I was traveled once in 1st Class in Bangalore Mail or Kaveri Express, I've forgotten it.

as of now in MDU division ony two trains have FC...
Pandiyan exp
RMM-TPTY Meenakshi exp...
Remaining trains FC removed....

I also remember travelling in First Class of MG between Udaipur and Delhi in Chetak Express. It was the best train of that time.
I was so amzed by the presence of reading light, since I had never seen it before and was very small in age at that time...
