This is what happened today at #Nizamabad Railway Station Booking Counter. The #Good & the #Bad.
So as it can be seen on the ticket, 4 of my friends are traveling from Nizamabad (NZB) to Pandharpur (PVR) tomorrow (20/01/17) via NZB-PVR Pass which departs at 13:25 from NZB. So today(19/01/17) at around 11:30AM after we were finished at Passport Office in NZB, me along with a friend (one of the 4 friends) went to railway station to get 4 tickets of sleeper class.
As always there was rush at the
booking counters, I filled the reservation form and finally got the tickets. We checked what berths we got and left the railway station saying good bye to the huge rush. At around 12:30PM one of the other friends checked the ticket and pointed out that we reserved the ticket for the same day and the train would leave in an hour at 01:30PM. OMG, we messed up. The 4 guys stared at me angrily thinking that I may have made a mistake on the reservation form. We ran back to the railway station and had to request the people standing in the queue to give us just 5 minutes so that we may talk with the guy sitting on the counter. We asked back for the reservation form and to my happiness there was no mistake, the date of traveling was 20/01/2017 but we got the ticket of 19/01/2017.
The person at counter was a good guy he just smiled, cancelled our ticket and gave us a ticket for tomorrow charging us 80/-.( I think these were reservation charges. And we have to surely pay this if we book ticket in advance) I won't admit that it was his mistake. It was our mistake too that we didn't check the date there on spot (but how could we), the print of the ticket was so bad that the date and other details on the ticket were mixed in other alphabets, as you can still see on the new ticket that there are some words (highlighted in black rectangle) which still cannot be read.
What I would like to say is, though we have have latest type of equipment such as ATVMs, machines for cashless transactions and printers, both the people and the governance doesn't care if they work properly. The wrongly printed ticket could have made my friends thrown out of the train tomorrow.

Guys please comment on below routes, accordingly i will post it in railways suggestion portal.
The shortest Nagpur- Kolhapur route covering major cities of Maharashtra, Miraj, Pandharpur, Solapur, Usmanabad, Latur, Nanded, Purna, Akola, Badnera, Wardha or (Nanded, Yavatmal, Wardha after NED-WR new BG Line) Its covering major stations, tourist points and 3 railway divisions together, could be shortest route for east west Maharashtra connectivity. Mostly existing route is to be used except following new BG line
1. Pandharpur - Usmanabad via Solapur (to accommodate Solapur in main NGP-KOP line)
Latur Road -Nanded new BG line (Railway already did survey of this but did nt proceed further it can avoid spiral long route via Parbhani and can serve alternate North south route after Bidar-Gulbarga new BG line and can be utilized for Delhi- Bangalore traffic.
This route can become important route of CR (like CSTM-NGP and CSTM-PUNE) and can prove a boom for the region connecting VID-MARWDA-West Maharashtra
The new routes shown in blue color. Please rate this route!!

RM Suresh Prabhu has given positive reply on the formation of new line Solapur - Tuljapur - Usmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad - Jalgaon.
It will save 150 Km distance which connects North India to South India.

yes, but marathwada MPs keep asking the question in parliament on Latur-Gulbarga new line sanctioning also people want that line... as this would further reduce the distance from Blr to NDLS by another 150kms

But Gulbarga-Latur itself is around 150km, and including small deviations (as tracks wont be in a straight line), will come to 160-170 km. Overall distance to Latur road will be around 190-200km. Via Bidar will also be around 220 km. The distance benefit will be hardly 20-40 km.
But this line will definitely be a boon for the place as it opens up connectivity to the rest of the country!

Via bidar it would be 140(GR-BIDR)+115(Bidr-LTTR)= 255Kms and if you substract 160 (GR-Latur) that would be arround 100kms reduction which is about 2 hours in IR terms

Just a small correction. GR BIDR new line is 104 km, not 140. So the route length to LTRR will be ~220km. I was assuming the proposed GR LTRR route will go via LUR, ( the more useful alignment in my opinion, than a direct line to LTRR), in which case, the total distance to LTRR will be around 190 km ( by road via LUR is around 175 km). In that case the distance saved would be less, around 30km. But it'll be a good alternative route, giving direct connectivity to LUR.
