It Was a humid Summer day, and i was at the station to Capture this train, Suddenly, it Came, with Humming WDP4B 40058 from Tughlakabad in Cab Forward mode, Honked Massively and Passed with 12526 Dibrugarh Town-Kolkata Dihing Express!!
Dihing Express is a weekly superfast train that connects Dibrugarh (an important town in upper Assam) and Kolkata, West Bengal. The train runs between Dibrugarh station(Banipur) of N F Railway and Kolkata station(Chitpur) of Eastern Railway. inaugural run took place on 4th September 2012, from Dibrugarh. The train numbered as 12525/12526; 12526 covers a distance of 1536 km in 28 hours and 35 mins with an average moving speed of 53 km/hr from Dibrugarh(Dbrg) to Kolkata(Koaa), and on return journey 12525 covers the distance in 28 hours and 45 mins with an average moving speed of 53 km/hr.
The train departs Dibrugarh every Tuesday 10:25 hours to reach Kolkata Wednesday at 15:00 hours, and on return journey it departs Kolkata every Wednesday at 21:40 hours to reach Dibrugarh at 2:25 hours Friday. It has a total 21 halts covering important stations: New Tinsukia Junction, Mariani Junction, Lumding, Guwahati, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Kishengunj, Malda Town,Azimganj, Nawadip Dham, Bandel en-route Kolkata and vice versa. Composition of the train consists of AC Two Tier(2A) one coach, AC Three Tier(3A) two coach, Three Tier Sleeper(SL) seven coach, Six General Class Compartments.
This among one of the four trains connecting Kolkata having an EMD loco as a regular link, Others are Saraighat,Shatabdi and Darjeeling Mail,Unlike Them, As they get an EMD of Siliguri Shed, This Train Usually Gets a WDP4B of Tughlakabad Shed near Delhi, Beacuse of Loco Exchange with 12436/12435 Rajdhani Expresses!

Sodpur is ofcourse my base since february 2011. Work on Increasing of Platform Sheds can be seen. which is now complete.

named after two rivers, Teesta and Torsha, It takes 18 hours to cover the distance near 670kms at an average speed of 42 km/hr, and follows the slow Sealdah- Naihati- Bandel- Katwa- Azimganj- New Farakka- Malda Town- - Kishanganj- New Jalpaiguri- Raninagar Jalpaiguri route. then the New Alipurduar portion separates and follows Dhupguri- New Cooch Behar-NOQ route enqoute to new alipurduar, whereas the Haldibari portion goes to haldibari Town in coochbehar distruct Touching jalpaiguri, my hometown.
The River Teesta, On which the Haldibari Portion is named, is said to be the lifeline of the Indian state of Sikkim, flowing for almost the entire length of the state and carving out verdant Himalayan temperate and tropical river valleys. The emerald-coloured river then forms the border between Sikkim and West Bengal before joining the Brahmaputra as a tributary in Bangladesh. The total length of the river is 309 km and it drains an area of 12,540 km². The river originates from Tso Lhamo in North Sikkim at an elevation of 5,330 m (17,487 ft) above sea level in the Himalaya. This lake lies to the east of the Donkia pass next to the Western base of Pauhunri and is formed by the melting of the Tista Khantse glacier..Before a large part of this was situated in Nepal. But after Sugauli Treaty it was acceded to British India.
and the River Torsa or Torsha ( also known as Machu and Amo Chhu) rises from the Chumbi Valley in Tibet, China, where it is known as Machu. It flows into Bhutan, where it is known as the Amo Chu. It has total length of 358 km, out of which 113 km in China and 145 km in Bhutan before flowing into the northern part of West Bengal in India.

The Town of jalpaiguri is situated on the Right Bank of Teesta and the river torsha is very near to alipurduar and coochbehar town is is situated on the banks of it.
