Fascinating 10 day Experience of traveling in SDAH Divn EMUs and few occurrences happened which were totally bizarre like ET WAP 4 #22800 with Freight Rake. Nice looking EMUs along with BEML EMU and BWN WDM 3As #16618R and #18784 and ultimate attraction GMO WAG 9 #31032. People Sitting on Freight line tracks under the flyover to get relief from intense heat.
we need similar terminal in SER also... SRC can be developed but a brand new terminal would be better...
I think maximum 10-12 coaches can be accomodated in NGRI. After incrementation of platforms, it can hold 17-18 coaches. It'll be a great terminal station in future as metro connection is there.
14-16 coach at present is capacity.. PFs are long compared to other suburban stns..
12 coach locals ply at present..
Apart from existing SHM, I can not find any other options. One option is transfering the Howrah Parcel unloading Terminal to Shalimar and constructing new platforms beside PF 23.
that may be practically not possible...
what if ANDUL can be developed in SER as terminal.. it has 5 PF at present.. not sure abt the PF length..
But, AFAIK, express coaches are little bit longer than EMU coaches.
If this thing happens then believe me it will be nothing lesser than a revolution for Kolkata and it will be ultimate form of RTS !!!
Andul is not properly connected with main city. Is there any frequent road transportation service to and from Andul?
yea not well connected.. but if its made then may be CSTC JNNURM buses may be started..
Railfanning at Secunderabad Junction in the 18646 Hyderabad Nampally- Howrah East Coast Express
It will look nice if separate captions are given for the pics instead of lumping everything under "Railfanning at Secunderabad Junction in the 18646 Hyderabad Nampally- Howrah East Coast Express ". At least three locos are there. Which one hauls what? It could be more informative for others. Anyway, good pics.
Sorry, the Alcos were from KAZIPET (SCR) and the WAP4 was from LALLAGUDA (SCR).
The Alcos were at SC outer, while the WAP4 was on platform number 8
