WAG9 of TKD or AJNI can be seen in BLN Goods Depot on 90% days.

In South Section there is too much density of EMU's & only Double Line how do they run Freights...also where does this freight come from...??? Is there any port down South on the bank of Ganges?

Most of the frieghts run to Budge Budge with coal wagons as there is a Thermal Power Plant at Budge Budge. Some frieghts run to Kolkata Port Trust with Oil tankers, CONCOR rakes. Coals are may be coming from Raniganj, Andal, Asansol. Sometimes, one or two frieghts in a month run to Baruipur with white cement, steels as there is a wagon factory named M/S BESCO at Baruipur. Frieghts running towards BESCO always gets diesel loco as BESCO to BRP station is non-electrified.

So the Container Terminal @ Kolkata is on the Eastern Bank of Ganges ryt...?? I hope the CONCOR rakes which travels upto Amingaon ICD comes from this side only.
& I heard Haldia Dock is used only for Coal Import....Do u have any information as if Haldia Port Trust handles CONCOR traffic or not...???

There is Container Terminal at Kolkata Port Trust/Kidderpore Dock. Don't know about Haldia Port Trust. I'm sorry.

Kolkata port is in South sec. near MAJERHAT station ..
There are two separate lines for goods trains form BLN goods yard to MJT.
The kolkata port , Budge budge termal power , metiabruz termal power , South 24 pgs food corporation Main Godown is in Bude budge , indian oil budge budge depot ( kolkata circle ) bound goods trains runs in this route.
There is 7 km route only for goods form Budge budge to Birlapur.
BLN - BNXR ( Kankurgachi road jn sec ) is made for the goods trains , very few EMU's run in the route ..

The kolkata port is in eastern bank of Hooghly river , not in western bank ...

haldia port is also used for cude oil , container etc.
There is a separate berth for cude oil..

Yes you are right Mr. BG. That is the reason this train (at 07:13) is much crowdy while the next train to BudgeBudge (which leaves ballygunge at 07:29) is less crowdy.

Need some more trains through the station.

I think , If the ER make a terminal station at BLN for SUBurban trains ,& diverted the terminal station of some short route locals like Barrackpur , Barasat , naihati from SDAH to BLN . IT can decrease the preause of SDAH . Also it become more helpful for the people of those route...

Buses on route No 5 or 10. Anandapuri-Gariahat or Kasba route minbuses or else by cab (approx fare Rs. 200). These are some of the options.

its possible , but u better not do it coz direct trains r not avbl. take bus

There is no train route from HWH to BLN. Better take S7 (frequency is too less) or Anandapur-Gariahat Mini bus or Kasba Mini Bus as PKV sir has mentioned.

My plan is crossing Hooghly by ferry. Will reach BBD Bagh n then emu to BLN.. Time is no issue..i suppose kolkata locals are not crowded like mumbai locals..

hmmmm U can do that but locals on circular line are not that frequent. Also U have to change at Majerhat other than a couple which go from Biman Bandar to SDAH via circular rail

well if u r a die hard rail fan and hell bent to come from hwh to bln by train, i have a masterplan for you.
board hwh bwn chord line local. get down at dankuni. board dankuni sealdah local. get down at sealdah. walk to sealdah south section and board any local from south section. get down at ballygunje. yes, by train it may take 2 to 3 hours for the entire process...by bus it will just take 30 to 45 minutes :)

Well i hope my hooghly-bbdb-bln plan will be supported by east coast timely arrival at hwh.. Lets c .. Othrwise taxi to hai hi :-)

Bbdb se majherhat jane bali antim train 19.17 pe chutta , if east coast exp arr before 16.30 , then only try it , other wise you catch bus & go SEALDAH , then catch EMU .

No need to go Dankuni , u can change train from Bally & balihalt.
