Aurangabad- Chalisgaon new BG line gets boost from the central government.
Central govt. today cleared one of the biggest hurdle in Aurangabad-Dhule NH52 4-lane project and Aurangabad-Chalisgaon new BG line. In a meeting held in the presence of union minister Nitin gadakari with Transport Ministry officials, NHAI officials, and Indian Railway officials, committee agreed
to increase the width and length of the Autram Ghat tunnel near Kannad on Aurangabad-Dhule NH. Niting Gadakari also ordered to start the procedure for construction of dual purpose tunnel.
New dimensions of the tunnels are..
1. Length: 8.5 km
2. Width: 7meters.
3. height: 4.5 meters at entry, 9.5 meters inside
4. Two separate tunnels for UP and DOWN lanes which will include road as well as railway line (either line will be double in the tunnel section or provision will be made for second line so that no need to dig another tunnel for doubling work in future)
5. Total width of the combined system: 28 meters.
This line will provide direct connectivity between Aurangabad/Marathwda and Indore/Ujjain, Ajmer/Jaipur, Ahemadabad.

nothing wrong in PINK BOOK, u can see last 3 years pink book too. DD-GTL doubling , electrification taken care by SCR and fund allocation as per SCR estimates.

Part of the problem with SCR is that they prefer ease of operations than connectivity ( not in a discriminatory way, but it ends up having the same effect). All their choice of starting points for trains are either terminal stations like COA,MTM, NS or major cities like SC/BZA/TPTY etc. Because of this, many major places like HX/ATP/OGL/AWB/NLR end up depending on passing trains and do not have any originating traffic.
While it is definitely a good idea to start trains in this manner, in most areas this is becoming a problem because, other than the Godavari and Krishna districts, the other areas in SCR have no terminal stations and many of the important places are
just passing stations ( not even major junctions). This is leading to the idea back-firing a lot and SCR has no answer right away as it has followed the same development strategy from the time of it's formation and they are unwilling to adapt to a different style of operations.
But SCR is a decent zone. It has the usual problems at the border regions, but they are not very ugly or discriminatory and the problems are mostly due to laziness in operations and a resistance to change. A dynamic leadership and the correct political pressure can help set things on the right path for SCR.

But then, wasn't CR handling the portions I mentioned earlier? Is it that, instead of splitting the entire work into two portions, they just combined it under one project and put it under one of the two zones involved?

total project is under SCR as its decided decades back. Its SCR responsibility to complete the Doubling and electrification untill DD. SCR done its job quicker in its area.
There are many SCR project running at snail pace. Nizamabad to Karimanagar to Peddapalli project is couple of decades old not completed.
Just 50 km single line project Jagayyapeta to Vishnupuram which is pending from past 10 years in SCR.
- Yerraguntla project takes several decades
Gadwal - Raichur also many years its taken. Even after opening not used effectively.
EVery zone has positives and negatives.

zonal railways wont handle projects, they contract to some agency. Zones are responsible for review and fund generation majorly.
This total project is given to SCR at the time formation i think. As its a big project SCR funding became major problem

Aurangbad stn. to be redeveloped under the IR's scheme of station redevelopment in 1st phase of 400 stations. Work include..
1. 2nd phase of new Aurangabad stn building with improved facilities under the model station project
extension of existing pf's 4-5 upto 570meters with covers
3. A new pit line in station yard (I personally do not believe on SCR, let's see!)

In last year's budget only 11 crore rs were allotted to 868 km Manmad dhone electrification, but still SCR managed to start electrification between umdanagar mahbubnagar.

The date seems incorrect. The Hingoli-Akola section was opened in 1959. The Hyderabad-Ajmer train would have run after that.

GM SCR completes the formality of visiting Aurangabad stn. Came for Shirdi Darshan and completed the picnic. Again hollow promises. No assurance on actions. Just admitted that NED is neglected by SCR.
Assured for new NED-CSTM and NED-Pune train. Will develop Nagarsol stn with Escalators and other facilities (As if Aurangabad stn does not
exist. No mention of Aurangabad stn development, new trains). Mukundawadi stn development will be completed by March. Indirectly denied for merging of NED division with CR.
PARBHANI-MIRKHEL (15Km) double line will be operational from March2017. Denied to give any assurance due to elections in Maharashtra (?!!) (What GM of SCR has to do with elections in Maharashtra?!! just an another excuse!)
Inaugurated new Holiday Home at Aurangabad Stn for Guards, Loco Pilots and crews.

This is not a new thing to us. As usual new GM has promised new trains of Pune and Mumbai. After few days, they will say CR won't allow us to give slot. If we ask CR officials, then they will point out to Railway Board. Years after years, we have same demands. No GM, DRM, MP's, Railway Minister are able to fulfill our demands till now. God knows, is Division ke acche din kab aayenge?
