Sijua on the DHN-KTH-CRP sub-section on the CIC line is a great place for railfanning. Trains here travel at a very low MPS, due to underground fire. This section was founded during colonial times in 1880, and in that way it precedes the Grand Chord, which was built in 1903.
At 1880 the Dhanbad-Jharia & the DHN-KTH-PLJE section was built and the tracks were laid down for the purpose of loading coal.Jharia and Katras in those days were tiny kingdoms, while Dhanbad was a small village. The coal in Jharia and Katras were the very best in the country, and as such the British made a deal with the local rulers to

construct a railway line to Jharia & Katras. Sitting prettily in between Katras & Jharia, this small village Dhanbad was chosen as the terminus for this two lines. However there was a requirement for the construction of a Loco Tank for watering the engines, as well a loco shed for maintainance of the locos. The nearest loco shed, the then 'East Indian Railways' largest was at Sitarampur with which Dhanbad had no rail link. This was because the Damodar was then the 'Sorrow of Bengal'. Every year it flooded and caused the deaths of thousands. Even the british had tried for several years to built a bridge, but the monsoon flooding would undo every progess they made. And as such there were rail lines which terminated at Barakar. But with the discovery of rich coal areas,the british wanted them to be directly connected with the industrial heartlands of Calcutta.
This is how a small unknown village, by virtue of it's sheer luck happened to become a not only a railway terminus, but also housed 'EIR's' largest loco tank as well as largest loco shed!
After the completion of this route, the british suddenly realised that if they they laid a railway tracks from Howrah to Gaya to 'Moghulsarai' (The British name for now Mughalsarai), they happened to reduce the distance from Calcutta to Delhi even further. The Brits toiled for years and bridges were laid across the Damodar, the Phalgow and the '5km streching' Sone!
Tunnels were laid across the Gurpa & Gajhandi forrests, and curves bulit to counter the steep gradient change as the Chotanagpur Plateau receded. Finally with much fanfare Lord Minto innargurated the Grand Chord in 1906,at Gajhandi. Meanwhile the British had extended the DHN-PLJE all the way to Madhya Pradesh, and named it as the CIC section.
With the completion of the Grand Chord however, Dhanbad was connected to Calcutta as well and Delhi directly and as such, in a small space of time became a important junction on the Grand Chord. It became the center of Coal-Loading and passenger travel, as both Jharia and Katras lost their past influences, somewhat.
Within a space of 100 years a small unknown village has become a thriving industrial city! And all this started because of this two railway lines!
It is sad that both these railway lines hav had to become victims of Underground Fires, caused by pure negligence!
While the Dhanbad-Jharia line is already history, the DHN-PLJE section is counting it's last breaths! Alternate routes are being planned, and soon this line will fade into Oblivion.....................................
Coming back to the present. It was a hot sunny afternoon and myself and my friend found ourselves at Sijua station waiting to catch the Jhargram-Dhanbad MEMU to Dhanbad.
While standing the overhead bridges, we spotted three trains in the space of 1 hours. We spotted two WAM-4s, 2 WAG-9s, a WAG-7, and the MEMU itself!
However as a tribute to the WAM-4, the 'Rahul Dravid of Indian Railways', for it's selfless 40 years of service, we clicked the pictures of the two WAM-4s only!
Picture 1-5 shows MGS WAM-4 bring in the DHN-CRP passenger.
Picture 6 shows TATA WAM-4 speed by with the marathon runner ALLP-DHN Express.
Hope you enjoyed this railfanning report, I added a touch of the history of the CIC section as well!

more...
last night while travelling in 12357....I try to capture videos at Gaya but due to very heavy rush I can't able do this...Even also I struggled too much while boarding the train.
After that some Bengoli Guys (Clg Group) creates lots of Hangama in S1 coach and force non/waiting reservation people to push in GS coach....Both are attached in This Rake.

Now finally they locked the main door and in MGS/BSB and told every one there not to open (2-3 guys) alwz there. After departing from mgs
......
Drama starts.....College guys(male+female) starts chatting and till lko they make too much noise that no body can able to sleep in my row. 2 senior citizens are also there and they are help less. In the mid time they start talking about Adults contents and jokes and race comments on Bihari and ups walas in there own language..And keep laughing like hell. It was too much frustrating.

In lko, I try to deboard the train to take pics but one guys came and told me that they r going to lock this.
I decide not to deboard than...As I don't want any chance to be In some trouble.....In morning, situations was ok but some people (non Bengali ) have some talk abt them.
...........
I was amazed last night that no one came forward to stop them....Even I saw some bengali uncles chatting nicely with them....But no one cares even I also told a guys to chat slowly but they don't stop ...So I decide to ignore them.

And before Deboarding at MB , My sister (with whome I was travelling) felt some health issues so I first rush to Waiting Room and from there in mean time I took this video.
Also I post a pic of that senior citizen who was totally helpless and you can analyse after watching on there face

Grievance Description

Sir/Madam My concern is about MGS_Gaya_DHN section in which passengers have to face lots of problem as there were no daily train after 12802 Purushottam Express to travel from BSB/MGS to Gaya-DHN. After Purushottam express there are 2 trains 13010 and 12308 but the punctuality of this train is very poor. The avg delay is about 3-4 hrs daily. Therefore people of SSM-DOS-Gaya-Dhn have to suffer a lot. Some time it took 12-15 hrs to travel from Bsb to Gaya and dhn. I saw people how they begging for train at DOS stn. Because of late running of DOS-GAYA pass, Daily passengrs from SSM DOS have to manage late night run.

My suggestion-
1. In every 2-3 hrs gap there should be a MEMU between Gaya AND MGS/BSB.
2. DHN GAYA Intercity should be extended upto MGS.
3. 12308 and 13010 should be speeded up so that it can reach gaya before 9 pm.
4. Train running timing should be revised according to need of the passengers. Sometime there is regular train here but sometime its blank for hours. .
5.Lack of FOB near Gaya Jn, too danger for the people , they are bound to cross the railway lines as there is no other way to cross it.

Details :The suggestions has been examined which are as under:

1. Additional trains like MEMU requires additional rakes and maintenance facility which is not available near Gaya at present. Path is also not available in GC for introduction of new trains.
2. Extension of DHN-Gaya-DOS upto MGS is not possible at present due to path not available and MGS is already congested.
3. Timings of long distance trains are being made as per suitability of long distance passengers and not as per local passengers.
4. The delay in train running is only due to fog and maintenance works is recent months. Now punctuality of local trains is improved and being monitored on daily basis.

There is a need of temporary solution as of now and at the same time maintain a train's intermediate stations. After, a permanent solution is available, everything will be restored back to normal. The bypass has to be constructed to avoid GMO LR.
But, I do not see returning of trains on ADRA-GMO section because there is no solution proposed and all trains will be diverted via BKSC or ASN which will be better.

In-between the hub-bhub, ADRA proposed to have it routed via Bokaro Steel City-Ispat Nagar-Santaldih-Joychandi Pahar of 113 km after track upgradation completes. The route requires no reversal to go to Grand Chord. Speed limit between Ispat Nagar-Bhojudih will be notified later. This will the longest route for Shatabdi having no time loss.

Both are different. City Centre is in sector-4 which is in Bokaro Steel City, the district HQ of Bokaro district whereas Bokaro Thermal is an industrial town . The distance between Bokaro Thermal and City Centre, Bokaro Steel City is approximately 47 kms by road.
