I agree with u that vskp has enough of AC trains and this train should run to SHM in weekends but where do they operate during weekdays in the question now. On Friday there is no duronto which is the most sought day for travellers from SC. As we can't change the maintainance of shift the rake to vskp SCR should consider to run a normal express train in present AC express schedule leaving sc on Friday and vskp on Sunday. One more thing in spite of 3 ac trains on Sunday from vskp to sc all get filled up with tatkal too.
I think railways should go away with this zonal system in operating. As told by experts operation should come under one body. Also may issues for TT is due no Pitlines and less PF. If railways can increase that infra. Many things will sorted out. ECoR has many rakes , they can easily run a non AC train on sunday from Vizag to SC. Yes LHB rakes are underutilized when YPR HWH can do it in 29 hrs then Chennai HWH in 24 hrs and sc HWH in 23 hrs. Yes should do away with zonal system for maintainance and have maintainance schedules according to demand based days. This can be done if we have more outlines at tier 2 cities so that trains leave metro cities on Friday halt for Saturday and leave on Sunday evening which I'll get 100% occupancy on both sides.
SC - VSKP AC express can run in the slot of duronto on Saturday and sunday return. So duronto can still start on Friday from SC. In that case VSKP will not loose Duronto, also there is no dynamic pricing ;) for sunday return.
